I can always count on CB to make me want to ... yeah... no more trouble from the mods tonight.

I am not a US Veteran but I've been with them and saw too much that I'd truly like to unsee. It's deflating and painful no matter how distant I am from the news. And in this case, entirely too close. -Magnus

Ladies, none of you look close to the ages you claim, I'll leave it at that.

Magnus, love her, that's what she needs, two parents are better, but as long as she has one she can count on she'd better off than far too many.

Oh, and frighteningly enough I followed your summary.

The loss of an ECFer, and a soldier that from the original post went back to his brothers when he didn't have to means the loss of one of the good ones. Kind of a low note to end my evening on, but the past pages made up for it. Thanks for for the thread, I can barely keep up on days I'm working, but it's worth the effort.

Just to join the group, I'll be 38 next time my birthday rolls around, and I should have some time tomorrow, so I'll dig a bit and see if I can find a semi recent pic. There's always the web cam if I can't.

Thanks again for the read.

It's really troubling me tonight. I almost didn't come home to Ceridwen when she was seven months old. Civilian position but in the mix all the same. And I'm still struggling with the consequences.

Too many that I saw and were just gone.

I don't know how soldiers do it. Gods keep their stead. -Magnus

The ecig team on here sound like a cult of ecig users, and the old phartes are not like that

I'm sorry who doesn't sound like a cult? She must be talking about a different group of people than I'm thinking of.

Yeah I put it here cause I won't post there anymore but I have to comment on how ludicrous this statement is. It was very hard not to respond to that.

Initial impressions of KBV its decent but needs to steep to be great I think. I don't count this as a mark against them. I've read a little about their business and its to be expected.

I think they'll make my top vendor list but I don't think they're going to bump VR from top spot we'll see after a week or two. They definitely can do an authentic peanut flavor I'll give them that.

Yeah, my system hasn't gone down in 13 years.
And when there is a glitch somewhere I can figure it out and fix it.

I don't have emergencies, and I never have late nights.
I don't have to make calls to software vendors who all claim something else is the cause of the problem.

If I had to work on the stuff all those guys work on, I would have picked a different career.

From somebody here that has to deal with being on-call tending 2500+ POS systems running Windows XP, I'm very, VERY happy for you.

And I envy you, in the nicest possible way of course. :)

You know this isn't exactly on topic with your post but... I am one of the few techs I know that never warmed up to that OS... I liked Vista better if you can believe it... yes you read that right Vista....that's how much I hated XP

Which flavors are do you have Shannon?

Side note, I loved XP, but it had some serious drawbacks. I wasn't a Vista fan because of it's rush to market, Windows 7 was much better. I think of Vista as the ME of the recent versions. Of all their iterations, I'm really partial to Windows 95 and especially partial to Windows 7. However, I've since moved on to *nix's, predominately Macs. I do have one XP machine (for the kids) and a Windows 7 partition on my Macs for Bootcamp/VMWare. I hardly use them though, unless I have to take control of a clients computer that has MS. There is a tool on the Mac side to do it, but it's easier to "walk the dog" on troubleshooting if I'm looking at the same thing the client is.

I got CandyCane, Candy Bar and OMG but I'm forcing myself to wait to try the OMG based on comments from others.

I liked 98 and I like 7... Vista was meh... I think part of me hating XP is being forced into the change... that and being told how stable it was and finding it crashed just as often as 98 did.

I haven't tried candy cane, so I don't know. Candy bar and OMG have caramel flavorings and will mature a bit. They are good out of the box, but will become more rich after a week (or more). Compared to some vendors that have juices that need steeping, I think steeping only improves on the KBV (especially the caramel ones). I've had ones (from other vendors) that I can't vape out of the mailbox that become vapeable after steeping. I have a Candy Bar that's 2 months or so old and another that's only a couple weeks. They are close in flavor, but the 2 month old one is very rich and decadent. The younger one is good, but it lacks that caramel smooth goodness that the older one has. I'll have to revisit my OMG, it was good out of the box, I was just on the Hummingbird Nectar so much that I didn't want to deviate.

XP was a bug ho and required massive maintenance/admin work, 98 had driver issues and was supposed to be the home PC grail (it was ok..). But... XP was a speed improvement on 2000. 2000 was nice, but it could be slowwww... Much like Vista is to Windows 7. I'm still getting comfortable with Windows 7, I just don't spend enough time with it. I like not having to fiddle with updates or tweaking or all that jazz anymore...
