Maybe I'm just naive or something, but I sort of feel sorry for Fred.
I think his forum has been hijacked and he is afraid to take it back because it might all fall apart.

If that is the case, I think he's wrong, and I think it would survive and even thrive.
But I can't blame him for being afraid if that truly is the case.

I don't, he has nurtured the environment with implicit agreement via inaction. If the latest rounds didn't deserve some of his "own" being disbanded, nothing ever will. So he is a fraudulent operator by his own posted rules. -Magnus

Nothing to feel sorry about DC...the bickering's been going on for years and he's done nothing about it. The bullies run that site and the only reason it exists is so ol freddy can sell things off his other site.

Nooooooo...... Any one know if that's a temporary state? IE suspended for a week, month etc. Or does it equate to banned for life here? I know suspended implies temporary, but I've seen it used to indicate permanent bans before.

Never had any issue with GotVapes, MadVapes, or Liberty Flights, but I may be running on borrowed time based on some of the issues I have heard about GV. MadVapes is generally my preferred hardware vendor.

No contact from Bruce still. Looks like CoV is going on my (very) short ".... list".

Liberty Flights is on my short list to order from at some point, the other one I really want to give a try hardware wise is Cignot. Now that I have spare batteries on the way, I do need at least one spare tank atty, maybe I should give them a look now. I did check and Madvapes doesn't carry them, so I couldn't just grab them together.

Actually he's on my "follow this guy and laugh" list. Forum mods place a high value on entertainment. The terrorist list gets handled immediately

He belongs on everyone's "follow this guy and laugh" list. Not to mention their "follow this guy be informed" list, I'm sure he's wrong sometimes, but I've yet to see him state an opinion that he couldn't back up with solid reason.

I thought you knew Magnus, but I got a pv with 0 nic just to give myself a little education about these things in order to help others on NSF who may have decided to quit using a pv....and also to help a buddy out.

I'm over 2 and 1/2 years smokefree and I'm comfortable enough in my quit to give it a try, but mostly I wanted to know more about them as we've been getting a few newbies coming in using them and asking questions and none of us knew squat about them.

So, I was vaping for a couple of weeks, helping my buddy out and I posted on my site exactly what I was doing...No Smoking Forum • View topic - Electronic Cigs.
Since then I have received some pm's from folks asking for assistance. If I didn't posssess the right info I would come here and ask, or direct them here, which I've also done for further info. Some of you are already over on my site helping out and it's much appreciated.

It was a great experience trying one out, but, for me the novelty's worn off and I really don't need to do this. I have another buddy who like this one has also tried everything to quit and not succeeded, so if I feel he's ready I may just very well give my pv to him.

@XBB, If I recall correctly you were using a drip setup, with a 510? If so and you're still interested in being knowledgable you might want to check out a two piece cartomizer, (KR-808 seems to be the currently popular one), set up if the opportunity presents itself. Not suggesting you run out and buy one, but they do seems to have a lot of followers, and I can vouch for them being easier for a newbie.

Here at least some serious good came out of the whole episode. One board may not want anything to do with PVs, but here is one where it's now an understood option. There are people there to answer simple questions, and who know where to point people who need more info. Can't see this as anything but good myself.

So are you thinking we were just allowed to remain in order to increase traffic?
I can certainly see that as a plausible explanation.

There are so many things that just don't add up to anything for me though...
--New electronic cigarette posters being prevented from joining
--Banning respectful people (Roland) for one small mistake
--Allowing controversial people to stick around indefinitely

Some of it points to increased traffic, but some of it maybe not.
There are so many things that don't add up, it just seems like funny math to me.

Well, don't forget we probably helped Hecates and Orly1777 to quit smoking.
And both appear to be on their way to zero nicotine too, if someone considers that important.

And then there are three people that have contacted me privately for advice on electronic cigarettes for friends or loved ones.
Not sure how they are doing and probably I will never know.

And one of them was one of our biggest "problems" over there.
That says a lot.

And didn't Mel get one for her mother?
(excuse me if I am misremembering the details on that one)

All in all, maybe not the best use of time or effort for two months struggle.
But then again, who can put a price on even one life saved.

My two cents:

What I don’t understand and never will is the absolute jumping on you all got. My view on life, if there is something that doesn’t interest you – pass on by or learn to be gracious. I left because of the attacks that you guys received on a daily basis. I am sure that people reading this are going to believe they were attacked to – however, anyone who has had the misfortune to read all that back and forth nonsense will see a one sided attack and a bunch of people with the best intentions defending themselves (pshaw you went in there to ruin their board – if it is strong enough nothing would be able to do that – that’s just plain ole paranoia and the sign that people need to step away from the keyboard and try that thing called LIFE).

I bet you guys must be exhausted LOL. And I say that with a kind heart. I was once in a horrible relationship and the guy that I was with verbally abused me on a daily sometimes hourly basis. At first I defended myself but I eventually got so tired of trying to defend myself that I gave up and just took the sting of some nasty words. Unfortunately I didn’t get out in time and it didn’t end very well. I think you are all wise for getting out in time. That venomous kind of behavior unfortunately passes on after a while.

You have some great things to say and people want to know – even at that board there were people who were open enough to accept that maybe it isn’t a bad thing and if it can get someone off cigarettes then maybe the benefits outweigh the risks. You have acceptance in another place (the UK board) that isn’t going to kick you in the balls any time you mention nicotine or e—cigs.

I am on another quit board and we actually have had a few good laughs about the opinionated, closed minded people there – and the sad thing is –others have too. Social media marketing is a pretty cool thing. It just takes one statement about how bad something is to ruin it and bring it to its knees. One person tells one person tells one person. I alone have 160 people on my face book page, quite a few of them my quit smoking buddies – they all know that QSMB is not the place to go to for any kind of support and if they happen to pass on what they have seen on their own facebook pages, nothing I can do about it.

I know when I went looking for support when I originally thought about using Champix to quit. I actually ended up smoking for another 4 years because of how supportive people were on support boards about the drug. People even thinking about using champix were lambasted – I bet you know how that feels. Now it is at least accepted – and now I am an ex-smoker – I see the same thing happening with e-cigs.

Others want to know and would like your knowledge. Go shower and get off the yuck – I plan on directing people here who want to quit but are finding it too hard, or who don’t want to quit but don’t want to smoke.
