Just for you, Sallie...

Z4300556-Female_Wolf_Spider_Lycosidae_-SPL.jpg

Okay, now that my husband has finally stopped laughing because I dropped my laptop and ran screaming from the room and flailing my arms like a little girl....

That was just mean! :p

Yup. I am irrationally terrified of spiders. So I suppose that makes hubby and I even. :)

Of course I don't run screaming from the room and flailing my arms like a little girl.

Ooh, you wouldn't like it here then, we've got very nasty spiders. VERY NASTY. The Funnel Web is the worst, it's an aggressive spider, not a shy retiring little thing like most spiders are. It rears up on its hind legs and attacks! I won't post a picture so as not to alarm anybody. We've got a few others too, like the red-back (very closely related to the Black Widow) but nothing comes close to the Funnel Web for out and out nastiness.

They come into houses too, once, when I was a young 'un I brushed the floor before setting off to work but didn't have time to pick up the sweepings and put them in the bin, so I left them in a heap. When I got home I picked them up (with bare hands) and underneath was a big male (the worst) Funnel Web in attack mode. Stamped on it quick sharp. You never try to humanely capture and release a FW, to quote wikipedia:

... people are strongly advised not to approach them. Chances of being bitten are high if encountered

There was no anti-venom until 1980, lots of people died.

No other spiders worry me, but the FW is a real killer. (I once actually shot a spider, but it wasn't a FW and is another story altogether!)

We've got some pretty mean snakes too. :)

Cheers

You know, that is the most horrible creature I've ever seen. It looks like an alien in a bad sci-fi movie. You're right DC, nothing irrational about being terrified of that.

It's just a mama spider carrying her newly hatched babies on her back... Nothing to be scared of.

I saw some Discovery Channel/Animal Planet/whatever show on the Funnel Web... That is one bad ... spider. Seeing one on its hind legs would give me pause.

ETA: The little cuss stares up at you with his/her fangs at the ready...

Yep, that's the one, and the fangs are HUGE. No other spider or bug worries me much, if at all, but the FW is another thing altogether! Your description of "bad ... spider" is most apt. (Luckily they aren't found in Tasmania, where I now live.)

Cheers

Although they don't scare me as such, one thing I find really creepy are the bugs that live on most people's eyelashes. I know the human body is a seething mass of micro-fauna but still... the eyelashes? :(

Okay, that's it. You've pushed me right over the edge. I absolutely do NOT want to think about bugs living in my eyelashes! 8-o

ETA: WHY did I click on that link...

Yes, it's irrational I know, but somehow there's something particularly gross about eyelash bugs, isn't there?
Any human parasite is a bit yucky, but somehow the eyelashes should be sacrosanct.

Hi Shannon

CE2 R5 Clearo update.

I may have been overly optimistic about the clearo's. I have noticed some burnt taste, which I associate with poor wicking, when using darker coloured liquids. Colourless or very pale liquids seem good but I'd like to play with them for a few more days before I make up my mind.

Further, my wife seems to find the hotter vapour (compared with G4 clearos and tanks) not to her liking.

I'd send you a couple to try for yourself, but postage from AU makes it a bit impractical. :(

I'll post an update again after a few days use.

Cheers

I just started my husband on some clear dual coils on a 3.7 eGo. So far, it's his favorite combination. WooHoo for options! Tomorrow is 2 weeks without an analog for him. :)

Two weeks is great! He deserves a reward! Cook him something nice or buy him a pressie!

(Edit: just in case you guys don't use it, "pressie" (pronounced "prezzy") == present or gift in strine.)
Cheers

For you CE2 Clearo fans, GotVapes just released a new version of the Vision 3.5ml tank. Looks pretty cool. I tried the previous version and loved it til I burned it out during a dry burn. :(
Looks good, but rather expensive. Also bigger than I need, I tend to swap to a new flavour every 1.5 ml or thereabouts.
Cheers

We use pressie, but in this case he's much better off if I bake him a cake and HE cooks the meal. :) Not that I can't, but it's usually a HUGE production and we don't eat until midnight.

Yeah, I'm afraid of the price too. Can't afford to break those too often. But GotVapes also just came out with a variable voltage eGo that I have my eye on. Maybe not an entire kit, but one batt is only $28. This one only has three settings, 3.2, 3.7 and 4.2, but it seems like a cheap way to see if I might enjoy a true Vv mod. I should have bought one yesterday while they were still in stock.
