Not to be snarky or anything about what about the jobs lost for BT, BP and health care?

Personally, I'd just rather government get out of the way when it comes to issues like this.

I think we would all love that to happen, but I myself am a realist. That unfortunately is not going to happen.

Maybe if BT and BP are looking for new jobs they can get hired on by a new company that is healthier for the general public and do some good instead of killing people annually.

Just my two cents on that;

I support the very idea of the petition and signed as 55th. But the text of the petition should have been thought out more diligently. No good to make a point which can be easily proved to be not true. Imagine a miracle happened, government supported e-cigs and tomorrow all smokers switch to e-cigs. Instead of investing $7-10 a day into BT industry they will invest $0.5-1 a day into e-cig industry. Will this create new jobs or increase unemployment? And if the main point of the petition can be so easily contradicted by anyone so what's the point of the petition. However I think we should get these 5000 votes.

Edit: But if regulation is already going to happen, then maybe a petition is worth signing. I should do my research on what the FDA has stated about this.
Here's the things people should be aware of, and why the days of flying under the radar are long since past...

The move to tax them has already begun: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...5-massive-smokeless-tobacco-tax-increase.html
The move by the FDA to regulate them is already underway: Review any threads you can find about TPSAC
The DOT is preparing to ban them on airplanes: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...23845-dot-proposed-rule-no-e-cigs-planes.html
Famous people gettting involved now: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-national-press-club-re-dot-proposed-ban.html

We aren't under the radar anymore.
In fact, we are already fighting in the streets.

I registered and signed the petition last night. Like everyone says, it wasn't easy! My confirmation email "link" wasn't a link. I copied and pasted it and clicked on it. Took me to the site, but no confirmation. But then I received a 2nd email with a link. After I registered, had to figure out that you must sign out, then use the link in this thread (I used one from another thread) and sign in again.

That's the government for you! They can't run anything right, not even websites. lol
