I actually hope that there is some truth to this, because if I'm just getting a minimal amount of nicotine from my ecig that's a step toward getting off nicotine. I use the highest nicotine available in my juices mainly for the TH. And if I'm actually getting alot less nicotine than that 36mg then I'm closer to kicking nicotine. I for one are happy about hearing this because even if the nicotine consumption is a whole lot less than the stated mg's I'm still getting the satisfaction from it. This is a blessing in diguise for me.

I know the nicotine is absorbed in different parts of the body; Nicotine in tobacco smoke is absorbed in the lungs and nicotine from an e-cig is absorbed in the mouth/nasal passage and the upper respiratory system. You are getting nicotine from e-cigs just in a different way.

edit: the nicotine from e-cigs is absorbed at a slower rate that's why you vape longer than it takes to have a cigarette to get the same result.

Here's all I know. I've tried quitting before; cold turkey, patches, gum, etc. It was very sucky and sometimes I only made it a couple days (once I quit for 7 hours, lol)

I've been doing the e-cig for about 2 weeks now and I haven't even THOUGHT of smoking a cig. I assume there's a good amount of nic in it because if I do to much a get a strong nic buzz. Anyway, it's not scientific, just personal experience.

I think it must effect different people in different ways. I've smoked for almost 40yrs, 1 to 2 pks a day, for the last 1 1/2yrs. I was down to 5 or 6 cigs a day. Now I'm vaping. I always vape the strongest nic. level that I can get, usually 36mg, 30mg, and when I have to 24mg. I'm not exactly sure how many ml of juice I go through a day. Probably between 3 and 5 and I've never had any type of bad experiences concerning too much nicotine. At times I will vape like mad for a while and even doing that I've never had any bad feelings. I know my nicotine intake before I started vaping was very low I'm actually surprised that I haven't felt any side effects from vaping the strongests juices. From my experiences I would have to say that you absorb either less nic. vaping or it absorbs slower over a longer period of time. I would love to see some legit studies on this subject.

I use 36mg, it was the only level of nicotine that would keep me away from smoking. I've been smoke free for about 5 months now. They don't have the additives like cigarettes do so you don't get the immediate rush associated with smoking a regular cigarette, but I certainly am fully satisfied after smoking it. I've let other people try my ProVari and they all felt the nicotine fine.

Well I am keeping that study and printing it out in case I ever get busted vaping at work. We have no official policy on e-cigs but a very tight no-smoking policy. I can take it out and say "see- it is not like cigarettes". All the vapers here love vaping and most are staying off analogs so we know it is effective. It is also effective for ex-smokers who picked up new addictions (like overeating) when they quit smoking. I am now in my ideal weight catagory and have dropped my BP 20 points since vaping. This study just helps me justify to the non-vaping world that what I am doing is just fine and dandy and they will not be exposed to second hand nicotine. For those who want to quit but are reluctant to try vaping because of this study then that is too bad. I mean seriously- did any scientific study stop any of us from starting to smoke? Did we quit just because science proved it was bad for us? Not most of us I am sure. We only quit when WE felt we needed to. And since nic gum and patches are huge failures for most people it is much more then the nicotine we crave. It is the gratification and reward that the ritual of smoking provides. Vaping is very close to that ritual without the offensive smell.

I don't have to read the article to know that it is either bogus, or misleading. A cigarette contains very little nicotine. Any tobacco product contains very little nicotine. If any tobacco product had a lot of nicotine in it, you'd die. It's all relative.

The levels of nicotine in ejuice are just as well known as for cigarettes. It might be that only about half as much of the nicotine is absorbed from an equivalent amount in a cigarette, but even with cigarettes, much of the nicotine is incinerated.

How much nicotine you get out of your ecig depends on how much is in the juice you put in, and how you inhale. If you aren't getting enough to get your fix, get a more potent liquid. If you are getting too much, cut down the level.

There is PLENTY of nicotine in ejuice, unless you specifically order or make it without any.

Don't worry about articles that claim there is no nicotine in ecigs, they are written by people who are either trying to create misinformation, or are just plain ignorant.

I crave my 510 with 36mg more than a Palmall Light. My friend tried it, coughed and asked me if it was pure nicotine :)

I'm surprise you aren't getting a rush.
