Its amazing how much your stamina heightens. Its a feel good thing when you notice your body becoming superior to its prior self. When i used to shovel snow I would have to take regular breaks but now I can shovel multiple times longer. I also became a workout freak, it seems one good thing leads to another and now I also eat healthy. Keep up the good work. I guess all I can say to you is no pain.... no gain. :)

Ok, I can breath easier now. From the thread title I thought maybe there was some terrible side affect to vaping that I wasn't aware of and was wondering if I should give up my new best friend (that would be my ego system). Even in my youth I never was an athletic person so I think I can safely say I won't be experiencing the same pain that the OP is enduring. I do like the fact that I can breath easier and don't have that loud rattling noise in my chest when I lay down to go to sleep at night. It's nice to hear so many people on this forum are as happy as I am!

That is one of the first things I noticed too. no longer have to sit up in bed and force multiple hacking coughs so I can get quiet enough to sleep! That and the late night wheezing was really starting to get to me.

Are you sure that soreness isn't from working out?

and yes, as mentioned above, you might experience some sore muscles when you quit smoking. When I first quit, I woke up on the third night with inflamed and painful gums.. It went away quickly though, and when I searched for possible reasons the most logical answer was it's because of "Increased blood flow".

I haven't had a cigarette in 29 days and I have so much energy and can breathe so much better that I've been working out every night doing cardio boxing on the Kinect. I'm so sore that I can barely move. I have muscles hurting where I didn't even know I had muscles :)

I experienced the same thing around the one month mark and I think some of that is coming from the other 3999 poisons in cigarettes leaving your body. I was sore as hell for about a week and then it passed.

Im sure all the working out isnt helping but its the best way to get your lung function back. :)

I lost 15 pounds after I quit smoking (and started vaping) and I'm back on the Total Gym every day followed by a 30 minute stationary bike ride that burns about 150 calories in 5 miles of riding (that's 150 miles a month and 4500 calories burned). I look better and feel better and don't get out of breath during the workout. Life is good!

For the OP. Go to your local health vitamin store and get some recovery protein powder. Not just protein powder, make sure it is of the recovery type. Drink this within 20 minutes of finishing your workout. You only have that short window to get this in there to work properly.

I go to a local crossfit gym and they preach this constantly. I started using is and didn't really notice a dramatic change, but continued because I thought I still needed the protein. One day I had some fasting blood work to get filled so I didn't take my recovery drink to the gym with me. (5:45am) Didn't think much about it until the next morning when I felt like I was back on day one of exercising. I couldn't believe how sore my muscles were. I'm a true believer now~!!

Hope this will help a little bit.
