Throat hit is the product of many things, most of which can be controlled.
First place to look is the nic content of your juice- the higher the percentage, the harsher the hit.
Next look at the PG/VG ratio of the liquid. Some people, my wife is one, have trouble tolerating PG and it makes her feel like she is getting a harder, unpleasant throat hit.
MOST, not all, vendors give you the option to select your nic percentage and ratio.
If that doesn't solve it, look at your set up. Study up on Ohm's law here on ECF and adjust your equipment accordingly. Higher total wattage tends to produce harsher hits. That isn't a hardfast rule, but it's true in most cases.
Finally... air flow. Changes in the amount of air mixed in with the vapor can have an effect on TH.
As a general rule, drink lots of water. PG especially will dehydrate you pretty quickly and an irritated throat will feel the vapor more.
I can pretty much vape anything, but we had to go through a lot of trial and error to find a combination that worked for my wife (12mg nicotine, 70/30 VG to PG ratio running at 8 watts)
Hang in there and keep trying. Vaping isn't supposed to be just like smoking but, for me, it was an effective way to throw away cigarettes forever.
Good luck
