I think there cheap because they are disposible. Hopefully they are good enough to get people intrested. Now we just need them to carry liquid! Hopefully this will help mainstream grasp the idea at least

Doubtfull. Probably just leave people feeling ripped off. Google the M9. When you start seeing it hanging on racks in the 7-11 we might be getting somewhere. It appears to be made for the US market. 1 piece disposable, ready to go, packaged in a bubble wrap. You can order them for about $7.00. For now the best bet is madvapes.com for their 510 dispoable.

So I admittedly know less than nothing about E-cigs (except that I want a Joye510 (501?) and not to buy at those damned "Smoke Everywhere" stands).

Honestly, without ever trying it - The $84 shipped for a complete kit was keeping me from jumping into it.

So when I saw the xhale kit at 7-11 last night for $20, I grabbed it - for $20, I figure, I can at least get an idea of what it's like.

The only had mint left, but I got it anyway.

I went back today and they'd refilled the supply, so I picked up a regular kit (another $20, I know).

Having -nothing- to compare these to... I like 'em. I've had only three real cigs since buying the kit yesterday.

I'm a heavy smoker (pack, pack and a half/day) and my first cartridge lasted me about 20hrs (granted, about six hrs of that was sleeping).

So far I'm happy with my experience with them...

For whatever it's worth.

The best thing is that 7-11's providing an easy and cheap way to "try it out".

just walked into the 7-11 near my work and was greeted by a disposable e-cig display. XhaleO2 was the name on the packages. 20 for a battery, atty, and 4 prefilled carts. Packs of carts are 15 for 5. They didn't have one out of package to look at. Said they got them yesterday. The prices on the web site don't match the instore price. Website is XHALE O2.

thought it was worth sharing.

7-11? That's in US right? Which large stores distribute Ecigs in UK?

I think gas station would be the perfect platform for e-cigs to jump off into the mainstream. The one thing that seem to be missing from what I've read is education on the product. Kits just sitting behind the counter, uninformed employees etc... If the stores are marking these up so much, you'd think they could afford some form of informational materials to supply their customers. Just leave some flyers next to the register showing the benefits and the long-term potential savings, maybe get some hot promo girls and they could take off.

OK, I was unable to resist... I got one of these kits.

First off, this appears to be a coordinated and funded "test market" campaign. I suspect the folks at xHale were not getting the return they wanted from mall kiosks (which, based on their web site, was where their main business was at) and that people are onto the "subscription" rip-off model.

So, I noticed about two weeks ago when I went into the local 7-Eleven (in Fremont) - where I used to buy analogs along with my refill of diet Coke - a BIG poster in the window advertising "e-Cigarettes! No Smoke! No Tar! Low as $14.95 a carton!" with a graphic of an e-cig unit that looked a bit like the Blu externally. I was a little startled, and kind of felt pleased... as others have noted, "mainstreaming" vaping could go a long way towards keeping the busy-bodies off the ban'd wagon. Provided the product was any good and people didn't feel ripped off.

I went inside, and they didn't have them in yet - just a pile of brocures. These were not as slick as the window sign; just made on a copy machine. They were very much marketing tools, containing little more info than the sign although it took two pages to say the same thing. If you look on the main page of their website, you get the gist of what they are saying. Note the text in red - this blurb is on all their packaging; someone is clearly trying to cover their butts legally speaking.

Today I wandered back in and saw the counter display - nicely put together plexiglas thing with logos and such, and a dozen slots for stock. They offered three types of "starter kits" for $19.95, which all appear to be the same thing - two branded as "e-Cigarettes" and one as an "e-Hookah". It looked like the same hardware in all of them; just different flavor carts ("tobacco", "menthol", and "vanilla").

Again the CYA: The 7-Eleven lady said that the sales rep was quite clear that the "e-Hookah" and "e-Cigarette" carts should not be used with each other, even though the hardware was obviously identical... but the "e-Hookah" cart is non-nicotine vanilla flavor, and very specifically says on the box "no nicotine". I suspect if vaping nicotine were banned, they'd just relabel all their stock with "e-Hookah" and sell out their non-nicotine vanilla.

She also mentioned that they are selling like hotcakes; they had the counter display for only a week and they had to call the rep to refill it twice. Unadvertised, but visible on the shelf behind the main logo on top were some items that looked like wall chargers.

So, I got a menthol starter set and checked it out.

I'm uncertain of the model of this one, but then I don't have much experience with anything but the 510 and a bunch of HV mod units. Check the photos and see if anyone can ID this thing. This is clearly a "micro-mini", with the atty bridge very prominent and in the open. Looks like it would be a great unit for dipping, and it comes with a "blank" cart molded and punched differently than the regular carts - looks custom made for dipping/dripping.

The carts contain little plastic inserts, semi-rectangular so air flows around them, filled with poly and juice. There is a foil cover on the open end that apparently you are supposed to punch out with the atty (there are no instructions in these units). There is clearly not 200 drags worth of juice, but probably about 2/3 as much as a 510 cart unmodified. They should be pretty easily refillable; I'll try later tonight and see (probably replace the poly with blue foam and fill it with Atomic Fireball  ).

My initial review - from a hardware standpoint, it's a pretty neat, compact device. The atty, as I mentioned, looks perfect for dripping/dipping, and the battery charges up fast - about 20 - 30 minutes. I haven't worn one down yet; still more data to update. Unlike some reports of "mall kiosk" e-cigs, however, this one produces quite a lot of vapor - comparable with the 510, but in a smaller package.

The downside: The supplied carts suck. The taste is almost non-existent, and the TH is nil. It's quite like an "ultra-light" version of e-juice. The vapor quantity is about all that I can see to recommend this guy... now if I can figure out a way to sell better juice at 7-Elevens that carry these units... :D

I've seen these now in the 7-11s in Belmont, San Carlos, and Redwood City (on Woodside) and I've gotta say, I love these things. It was the first E-cigarette I bought and I've subsequently been reading as much as I can here about the different models, trying to figure out what new model would be right for me. I finally got a KR808D-1 that arrived the other day, and to be perfectly honest, I prefer the XHale one I picked up at 7-11. The latter has much more vapor and the draw is MUCH nicer (the KR808D-1 has NO resistance--it's like you're just sucking air through a straw).

If anyone has any idea who actually makes the XHale O2 and what model it might be, I would love to know so I can buy back-up parts.

Thanks a bunch and thank-you ECF for being here!

Pretty damn cool for that price! I'd pick one up if they sold it at a 7-11 near me. For what they're charging for one batt, one atty, 5 pre-filled carts and a USB charger, you'd pay that much at any ECF-recommend web site if you bought the parts separately. I don't know how they can charge that low, but I'm glad to see it out there. There's lots of scam companies out there still charging $99 for similar starter kits. And by getting them over the counter at 7-11 you don't get stuck on any kind of subscription program.
