I took my 901 to Sanibel Island and Ft. Myers beaches and had no problems with sand or anything else. Just be sure and take plenty of batteries along. I keep mine in a plastic case for added protection. I did not leave any components in direct sunlight either. Good luck, but you should not have any problems.

Just one caution: Wind blowing over the e-cig can trigger the battery, activating the atomizer. Hold your e-cig in front of your mouth and blow over it -- the tip, the mouthpiece. Does the light come on? If so, leave it home. Winds are relentless on beaches.

If yours doesn't trigger from the pressure differences caused by wind, by all means use it.

Personal note: Mine triggers. I can't even take it while walking my dog!

I take mine to the beach at least 2 times a week and have no issues at all. Mine is a penstyle and I have not noticed the wind firing it, but then again I hold it with the battery end facing down to the sand. I will have to watch for that once this cold snap gets out of here and I head back down. Enjoy your trip to the beach!!

Hmm... I guess that rules out vaping while on the bike, eh?

I'm new to all this and just ordered a 901. I was thinking that it would be nice to not have the wind smoke more of my cig than I did, but it sounds like this will be a problem with e-cigs too.

Depending on what ecig you have - go for a manual switch if it's available for your model.

No more worries about wind (or noise) activating your auto battery. :D

...I've got a couple true 901s, and I dont think a hurricane would trigger the atomizer on it... Havnt had any problems with it in the car with windows down or walking around.

Well, there's a hell of a lot more wind on a motorcycle than in a car with the windows down. But, I certainly hope it won't be an issue.

I'll be sure to post my findings once I give it a shot.

I had my Pilot M401 at a very windy beach the week before last and AMAZINGLY I did'nt have a problem with it triggering, though I faced downwind when using it and didn't over do it...

1st post.

Vaping on bike, on the super-slab is awesome! - Much better than analogs!

I have only used my 901 (from TW) for a week now. I can not see if it is activated by the wind during sunshine, but it seamed to work OK.

I have only done one night-ride so far. It looks to be good to go at 55mph/89kph.

I do have a small fairing / medium windshield. It did not light up when held up outside the shield's slipstream.

I have not rode close enough to a Harley, to find out if noise will trigger it yet. lol

Back on topic, I think that as long as you stay in the USA and use reasonable precautions , sand will not be a problem.

ot again:
Mine fell out of my pocket into the dogs water bowl. - I think that the small holes, saved it. - I plucked it within 2 seconds.

I took it apart and dried it. (hair dryer and toaster oven at ~ 212 degrees) It works fine.
