VapApe - I'm up in the NE Corner of Ohio... Redneck, I mean Ashtabula County.

Have them listed as being at the WalMarts now, before was mostly Flying J Truck Stops and the Kwik FIll (and Love's truck Stop) near me.

Like I said before they are a good little cheap unit to start out on. Went from those to the Blu (long story with finally being able to return the Blu). For being 1/6th the price of the Blu I would recommend them. Shows that sometimes you find something cheap that is better than a "name brand". I wouldn't recommend the Blu e-cigs to an enemy.

They have to be something close to a 650mAh battery. The cartos for them are a bit pricey, good analogy someone made to ink cartridge or razor blades. But you can pop the caps, clean them and then fill them with your own e-juice.

Getting thrown out of better places than WalMart.... Reminds me of the days of my youth with my "bed" friends.

The recent FDA scare about new regulations make me think that juices are going to be highly scrutinized next year. Flavor names are coming into question and there's some parts of the bill that talk about allowing certain types and brands that existed before a certain date and outlawing/control those that weren't around prior to a certain date. The law refers to ther sections and is legalese in nature. I didn't spend more than 30 minutes perusing it.

At least one major supplier has announced that after Dec 31, they won't be in the juice business anymore because of the new FDA regs. That's scary. DIY, anyone?

There's some info here in this FDA newsletter. There are some informative links.

I have to ask who is this major supplier? Is it one that FDA swatted their hand for posting health claims, and carrying the so called ...... E liquid?

It was Madvapes. They just put lots of their juices on sale and said they wouldn't be in the juices business after, I think it was actually Dec 28. This was in a newsletter I got from them. They are just worried about getting stuck with product, I guess, due to the FDA thing until they see how it pans out. I like the juices they sell just fine and was glad to take advantage of the sale..

Are you sure it was Madvapes? Their last newsletter was sent on Dec 16 and said nothing about this.

And nothing about this has turned up on the Madvapes forum here on ECF.
Something this big sure would have that forum buzzing.

I can't find where I heard about it, but went to their site and ordered juices for $8.99 50ml and even lower for 30ml and smaller. Some juices aren't on sale, but most are. I went back and ordered another 150ml this week, some at sale prices and some not. It's worth a check to see if what you want is on sale.

ETA: It's selected Dekang juices on sale. $8.99 for 50ml. 3&5 (555) is one of them. I'll try to find where I picked up on the sale.

Well, personally I have mixed feelings about e-cigs coming to Wally World.

On the one hand, mass market penetration through such an outlet can only be a good thing to enhance 'respectability' and visibility. The Waltons do tend to be quite picky about what the stores sell - anything of 'questionable' morality doesn't seem to be carried.

On the other hand, if they only carry crap and this puts people off further investigation then the industry will be scoring an own goal.

walmart is where i bought my Mistic kit from. my local WM sells batt, 2 carts, and charger for $13+-. they have a larger kit that is 2 batteries, 3 carts, USB charger and walwart for $27+-. almost 48 hours in and still on the first cart, battery has been charged twice just because i didnt have a 2nd battery till yesterday(didnt want to end up with a dead batt). since buying the kit i have only smoked 4 regular cigs, only one today since i dont think i should waste what i already paid for. once im done with the pack i have i will be on the mistic 100%. once im through 2 of the 4 carts i have im going to buy a better kit. i think they are good as a starter kit just to see if you will like the E-Cigs, but im sure if you get enough carts and juice they will last you for a while.

a note about the flavor, im using the menthol and its a nice smooth flavor. it does produce a nice vapor. nothing like one of the big 18650 systems but on par with a normal cig give or take. so far i like it.

I just ordered some 808 accessories and liquids from Mad Vapes. I just got their most recent newsletter a few minutes ago. No mention of going out of the liquid business.

I am concerned about the FDA getting too deep into e-cigs. They banned flavored tobaccos about 6 years ago and that was a major bummer. NY seems to be leading these kinds of movements. They banned the flavored analogs from Reynolds and they also banned the flavored cigarette tobaccos for the RYO market. It wasn't long before these measures went nationwide in the US.

NY currently has a ban on any kind of Camel Crush - popping that bubble is apparently "fun".

I don't want to see e-liquid go that way too. However, these flavors are not being sold at any OTC smoke shop or Wal Mart and that might be the difference in keeping them around. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. People at my local bar do get curious as to what flavor I happen to have that day. They have tried Bubble Gum, Grape, Irish Creme, and Chocolate Cake - and each of the smokers then tells me they are going to switch. Then I go on to tell them about the cost savings and health savings - and they are more convinced. Problem is, I think they are all under the influence and don't remember what they said or perhaps sounded more serious than they were. Most are not too internet savvy.

However, the price of entrance with simulated analog flavor and sticks has now clearly dipped below the $10 mark for reusasble 510, 808D-1, and 401 - people just have to be internet savvy to be able to get a hold of these and same goes for the fun e-liquids.

Wally World has also made entrance with a full kit in the under $15 range.

From the responses to this thread, it seems the batteries in these Mistic kits will outlast 3-4 or my other batteries. I currently have over a dozen batteries and am reluctant to get the Mistic - its just another format I have to deal with. But most likely will get one on impulse one of these days. Hell - for $8 I can experiment to see if it blows one of my 808D chargers.

Well, I have bought a Mistic before and although the flavor is not up to what I usually like -- they only sell 'traditional' and 'menthol' -- they vape like crazy and are really reliable, as well as great battery life for a cig sized unit.

Its far, FAR better having Wally World sell these than something overpriced and underperforming. $8 to try out an ecig is not a big leap, and since these things actually perform pretty well, I think its a good thing.

i picked one up at wally world today. not a bad little unit for $13. I thought the flavor was afwful, so i vaped it until i could mix a little of another flavor with it and now it's much better. i would recommend the kit with 2 batteries for people just starting though. i just got it to say i bought an e-cig at Wal-mart

I didn't read this until after hitting our WalMart today so couldn't tell you if they had them there but I noticed this month that HEB (grocery store chain here in TX) is carrying both BLU disposables for $9.99, the full kit for $49.99 and Nicoteks for around $19.99 for a 'kit' (I'm not sure how much of a kit it is, I didn't have a chance to go look).

I'm personally of mixed feelings on it all - I'm really excited that vaping is going more 'mainstream' but I'm also scared to death that setups like these might be all we're left with if the FDA and all of the other alphabet soup orgs out there get their way - short of banning us back into walking chimneys.

We are distant neighbors. I'm down by the old Geauga Lake.

I'm going to be that way on sunday. My dad is by Twinsburg/Macedonia.

They aren't that bad, the Mistics. Better than the Blu e-cigs. Might not have the Johnson Creek Juice in them but all and the hardware is way better. I did get one bad batch of cartos for them. Tastes like a cat peed on a cardboard box and I was smoking that box. My only real complaint about them is that they don't seem to have a thread system that can make them compatible with other cartos. You're basically stuck using their cartos. But how many first time buyers will know that you can pop the ends, clean them and refill them with a juice of your choice?

Wally World has also made entrance with a full kit in the under $15 range.

And that's just it, and half the reason I picked one up was because at that price even if it sucked I wasn't out anymore than two packs of smokes :)

If you find something with a compatible thread give me a shout cause I am passing mine on to a friend of mine. He'd be happy to know he can pick up some of the cartos at Walmart now too. Sort of halves the distance he would need to drive to get cartos.

It's a good thing. More vapors will tie us the political clout to fight the FDA. Just numbers are even more important on the state and local levels.

I have to try one of these if my local WM has them.
