I really wanted to post this in the News forum but don't have those privileges apparently ... anyway I was really interested to read this Reuters article about how propylene glycol vapour may protect against the flu virus. Having been using my e-cig and been smoke-free for the past 4 months this is the first time in years that I've managed to get this far into the year without some awful cold or flu virus flooring me ... the full article is on Reuters website with the headline "E Cigarettes may be more effective than swine flu vaccine" ... unfortunately my newbie status means I can't post urls either!!

You need 15 posts to be able to start new threads in the other parts of the forum and link URLs. Somewhere on here is an article about a Dr. at a Chicago hospital running a study in 1942 that found that as little as one part per billion of PG in air will kill airborn virus' and bacteria. It does this by pulling all the moisture from their bodies....the property that will dry your mouth and throat if you don't increase water intake. I think vaping can help protect us along with other precautions like keeping hands washed. I've only caught one cold since I started vaping and it was gone in 3 days where they used to hang on for a couple of weeks.

Joolslee, I think this is the article that you referenced http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS91433+03-Nov-2009+PRN20091103

It looks like this magazine would be of interest to a lot of us. http://esmokersmag.com/
