Hi,

My girlfriend bought me an E-Cig for Christmas, from what I gather it's a DSE101/3 styled model. From my research, these super mini styled models are disliked at ECF (alas) but at least in my case (who smoked about 5 a day average) it has easily replaced the need smoke throughout the day (or every time I want to smoke, it goes in, few vapes later I'm good to go).

Except, in the case when I'm down at the pub or on a night out. Problem is after a few pints my PV just seems to lose it's hit. Another smoker saw me vaping, obviously saw my distress and offered me a normal cig (eagerly accepted).

The difference was huge (a Malboro light for what it is worth. I smoked Benson and Hedges Gold before). So, something is wrong here. My lass bought me this thing to stop smoking, admittedly I didn't want to stop smoking, so I've come to these two conclusions:

1) I need a stronger e-liquid then what's in my cartridges to give a bigger hit

2) My model of PV is ill-equipped for the task. I will say the battery life on my e-cig is fine and vapour production is perfectly fine for normal use. Just when I socialise down the pub, it pales with an analogue.

I just need some advice. I really want to stick with vaping as it's just so much cooler (gadget geek here!) but this gap really needs plugging.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know if it numbs your throat or something, but alcohol does have a tendency to make the hit feel weaker.
Looks like you'll need to either up the nicotine strength, or get a more powerful device, for times when your drinking.

If you want something the size of sharpie or small cigar, get a Riva (not an eGo) and some dual-coil cartos.

If you don't mind getting something bigger, get an inexpensive device that uses 18650 batteries.
Then instead of using the 18650 (3.7v) batteries, get some of the 5 volt NiMh batteries from MadVapes.

Upping the voltage to 5 volts will definitely help a lot when you're drinking.

Get yourself an inexpensive 5V box mod, a box of dual coil cartomizers, 2 sets of batteries, and a charger. 5V paired with the dcc will give you one heck of a good kick when you're out at the pub and that may very well be all that you need. You might shoot www.maximumvapors.com an email and ask if he'll ship you a kit with an extra set of batteries. He builds some very clean box mods and I've been satisfied with his customer service. If he won't, try http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ercool-quality-look-great-price.html...JamesW is the builder and produces excellent quality mods as well. Shoot him a PM...would at least be worth asking.

A KR808D-1 battery & a DSE-901 or DSE-901-T (tank) atty works great or a Joye 510.
:smokie:

Based on what the OP stated, this would just be more of the same: more weak mini-batteries.

Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

As others have suggested, get a better battery model, one with around a 1000 mAh rating would be best for a beginner. I would look at either the E-Power 510 or the Kgo. Both are better battery 3.7 volt models unlike the dGo which is only 3.4 volts. Also use ONLY manual batteres for warmer vapor, better control and safer. I would also keep your eliquid initially around 23mg strength. Here are several well supported suppliers:

Crystal Clear Vaping

KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit

e-Power

You would just be wasting your moeny to get another mini-battery set-up.

All above advise I "ditto" and second! I started back smoking when I would go out with friends and have a cold one. Bum one here or there...next thing you know I'm smoking AGAIN after 30 years non-smoking.

So, for me the test of vaping was last weekend and having a couple of beers on New Years Eve. Didn't even want an analog...just vaped more than usual, not to cut down the cravings...more cuz it went with the beer well. : )

Definitely get some 18mg or 24mg for when you go out and club.

Just before Christmas I was over at my brothers place for a Christmas Party. Had some stiff drinks, some shots, and a nice little buzz going on. Ok, more like a big buzz, I am a light weight. Anyway, I have been using a PV for around 4 and a half months now. At the party I had my 1000 mah ego battery and some Ego Mega Dual Coil carto's, like this here. One had Bounty Hunter at 18mg and the other had Renegade RY4 at 18mg. Most of the other people were puffing away on their analogs, but not once did I feel the need to bum one. This worked really well for me in the "pub" setting with a lot of other smokers.

I can not compare this with what you have, as I am not familiar with that model, but I can say that I was totally satisfied with my ego and my mega carto's, and with that 100 proof stuff they kept pouring into my shot glass.
