E-Juice and Nicotine question

I bought a Red Dragon (E9 model) e-Cig recently. I got it from my local head shop. All they have are the high and extra high cartomizers. I mainly smoked parliament lights and Marlboro ultra lights, and I smoked about 15 analogs a day. I didn't want to go to a high cartomizer, but that is all they had. So, I figured I would get the high level cart, and then research a few suppliers of e-juice. I found a company that I liked, and so I am currently waiting for my e-juice to come in.

Right now I am getting a headache that last about a half hour to an hour. After that headache is gone, I feel really relaxed and calm. I usually do not have to vape for the rest of the day, because the cravings do not exist. Would this headache be related to the noticeable increase of nicotine?

My other question is related to the pg and vg content. What, in your opinion, is the overall better tasting combination? Would a little higher VG in flavorings such as apple pie make the flavor sweeter (70pg/30vg) versus 100& pg?

Thanks in regard

It is possible that the headache is from too high nic content. Drink lots of water when you are vaping, and that should help a bit. I started with 100%VG, but have found that VG alters the flavor in the wrong way for me. I prefer a 50/50 vg/pg juice. Good flavor, vapor and th with this for me. 70/30 is almost the same from my experience. I can't really tell the difference between 50/50 and 70/30.

Hey! I'm technically a newbie as I haven't posted yet, but i've been vaping for a few months so I figured i'd give it a shot and answer your questions to the best of my ability, I smoked about the same amount as you before I started vaping so i'm going to venture out and say that depending on what the company's definition of "high" and "extra high" is would make up my answer. I've seen some places that sell e-juice that have "extra high" as about 18 or 24 mg and others define it as 36mg so I'd need more specifics to figure out an answer for you, but I think everyone has different reactions to quitting...I think most people will say that when you're a were an average smoker 18-24 MG is a sufficient amount of nicotine. I don't think anything lower than that is satisfying. As far as PG and VG content, I believe it depends on each person's taste but I've had 100% PG and I've also had 80PG-20VG and that's really my favorite, perfect throat hit and flavor....(in my humble opinion of course) I hope everything I said made at least some sense and that you get the answers you need! :)

VG is going to add some sweetness, but it may not make a big difference with some flavors. I'm like Fiery, and most of my juices are a 50/50 mix. I have some that are 40/60, but that's about the max amount of PG that I want. I'm not a huge fan of TH, but I love being able to exhale tons of vapor. The best tasting combo is going to be 100% dependent on only one thing, YOU. I'm finding that I like lots of flavor, while some people enjoy more subtle flavors. At this point, it's all about you and what you like the best.

As FieryOne says, drinking water when you vape will help, but, as TorieRae points out, we really can't offer much help unless we know the nic level in the cartomizers you are using - the terms "high" and "extra high" don't really tell us much, since many suppliers have their own definition of what the terms mean.

Yes, 18 MG is really not considered that high of a nic content, I agree with JustPeachy, it could be something in the e-juice that's in the carts you bought. I've been vaping juice from TastyVapor and i've been really happy with the quality. I think you should order some blank carts (assuming you haven't already) and try out your new juice when it comes in, see if the headaches go away. If not then maybe you should try another company's juice.

Thank you for the advice. I purchased 5 blanks and some e-juice from FSUSA on friday because of the reviews I have read about them. I should be getting that juice tomorrow. I am hoping the new juice will take care of the problem. I bought a little over 60ml in juices in the 11mg dosage. Thank you all for the advice! very informative. I will update on my findings with the new juice. I also just ordered 50/50 and 80/20 in 18mg juice based on FieryOne and ToriaRae's comments. My current juice is 100%pg.

This is an update to the original post:
It turns out that my nicotine intake was too high for me. My headaches no longer occur, and I am able to enjoy the new juice! I love the 50/50 quite a bit in the French Toast flavor. The 80/20 imo produces the right amount of (can't think of an adjective). Apparently, drinking a lot of water helps out. It re-hydrates the skin molecules from the PG, and it also helps break down the VG fluid (which if not hydrated enough, will make you wheeze and have some breathing problems from what I heard).

However, I did a lot of research on flavorings from the supplier that I ordered from, and I have 3 bottles that contain the diacetyl (80ml in total) :( So, I will not take chances on them. I have no idea whether my other 3 premixes have diacetyl or the proeth 2,3. This is the huge bummer!

Other than that I have come to the conclusion that I had too high of a nicotine content. I believe anyhow.

I would personally use those juices even though they contain diacetyl. I would not vape them all day every day, but I would use them. I'm not telling you it is safe to do so, nor am I suggesting you take the risk. I'm just telling you what I would personally do. I am glad the lower nic and more water intake is helping you to feel better. :):):)
