e-juice darkens with bad taste

I thought I read somewhere (here) that one should keep their e-juice in a cool, dark place for storage.
I recently bought a new iClear 30s tank and filled it with my favorite juice, normally a light brown color.
I left the filled tank out on my dining room table one day and noticed the e-juice turned a dark brown color.
I suppose it was exposed to indirect sunlight, since we have a large picture window in that room.
The taste was kind of bad too, so I emptied the tank and rinsed out the coil, wasting over 3ml of e-juice.
Was the indirect sunlight what caused this or would even incandescent lighting do that?

The process I'm thinking you're thinking of is called 'steeping' it. I would email your e-juice manufacturer and see if that's something they recommend doing with all their juices. I'm not sure if all juices are meant to be steeped, though I doubt that would matter. I'll link a video that I found since I just bought a juice where many have recommended to 'steep' it for two weeks before giving it a good vape.

my juice does darken in clear tanks but does not taste bad. I use 2 Iclear30S tanks and fill then and let them sit overnight before use as they take a longertime to soak into the wicks. I use them for non-sweet juices as I have found sweet juices do seem to gunk the coils quickly giving a burnt taste quicker

I live in Florida too and keep my juices in a tin in a locked cabinet...have some over a year old that taste fine. most are in dark glass however

Any tank will darken a juice slightly before it's used up. Heat is the culprit, IMO. Bottom coil tanks are especially prone to heating the juice through the center air tube, which gets warm from the coil below.

Some juices are more likely to darken. Maybe someone can tell us which ingredient causes some to darken and other not so much. Sugary juices are known to foul up a coil.
