I have read in several other threads about adding VG to your juice for different reasons...and I am probably answering my own question here......but I ordered a 15ml bottle of Apricot from Mt Baker Vapor and had them add 3 on flavoring......got it today loaded a tank and I think I messed up as it seems sort of strong and bitter and not real apricotty<LOL ok maybe its not a real word>.....so I am guessing I could just go get say 5-10ml of VG and add to this? I am letting it steep right now on my desk open to see if after a day or two it gets better but I am thinking I am gonna have to tone it down....btw its 24mg Nic level so if I cut it down to 18-12mg I am not gonna be upset...most everything I have is 24mg but one of my local B&M's only has 16Mg of their juice mixed up ahead of time if you want something stronger you have to order in advance......and I mix their Maraschino Cherry and Citrus Fizz together to make my own Cherry LimeAde and I do fine on 16mg...Thanks in advance for all advice

apricotty<LOL ok maybe its not a real word>

Hey you created a new adjective. :D

But seriously:
I'd hope one of the vets would weigh in on this. Chemically speaking it will be different with a higher VG mix; depending on how you like it. If you are willing to take a risk and buy more you could buy another (regular) and mix it with that or also add PG with aprox. the same mix of PG/VG you got from MBV.
Personally if I was going to try it I'd try to match the PG/VG mix of the order to dilute it. Of course you might just not like the juice. :(

I would just experiment with a small amount (2ml) and just try adding 3-5 drops of distilled water (20 drops usually equals about 1ml - depends on your dropper) to dilute it out - vg is available at walmart but I have heard it has a slight "soapy" after taste

steeping does help but most eliquids are good to go within 3-5 days from mixing (shipping takes care of 3+ days and adds a lot of shaking too (tobacco flavors take longer to steep and mature))

the first time I ordered from MBV I added 1 shot and ended up diluting most of them by about 3% for them to taste right

VG will smooth out the flavor, and since you have 24 mg nic it won't dilute it to bad. What was the PG/VG ratio that you ordered? I find hig PG ratio's a bit harsh.

Usually when trying out new juices, it's best to try the standard flavoring setting, then if it is not enough, bump it up the next time. Lots of juices can be ruined with to much flavoring. Finding ones ratios, flavors and nic level preferences can be frustrating. Went through a lot of juice before I zeroed in on my personal preferences.

oh crap....I had filled a tank with the Apricot juice and found the flavor to strong so just left the tank sitting on the desk.....came home from work yesterday and thought well lets see how it tastes after a day......picked up the tank and if felt a bit rough.....yep....you guessed it......its got cracks in it......from the flavor being to strong?

Could I safely use tap water to dilute juices instead of diluted water?

Tap water has ions that may make the water slightly acidic or slightly alkaline. Besides, many water companies put small amounts of chlorine in the water supply, ostensibly to kill harmful bacteria--and untreated tap water may contain bacteria.

So, distilled water is your best bet. It's deionized, boiled, and condensed to kill any bacteria.

Ok, Mixing it it with VG would not hurt at all. Just keep in mind, VG has a thicker consistency than PG. Adding PG or VG to an existing flavor is by far not unheard of, and is more common than you think.

Adding water will work as well, since it dulls flavors and makes it a warmer vape, but it also doesn't produce a "cloud" like PG or VG. It would be a bit more stealthier. Tap water will work, but I still would recommend distilled water, only because of the minerals found in tap water might collect on your coils.

And yes, The apricot is reported to damage plastic tanks. That's said on the description in MBV (i just checked). If you like the flavor, I do suggest you get some sort of a pyrex glass setup or drip. for the easy setup, you could get a mini protank to fit an EGO type battery if that's what you use, or a regular Protank II to match larger battery mods. I still use my plastic tanks occasionally, but realize that it's not for all liquids.

IMHO ... your problem is a steeping or aging issue and not a flavor issue ... if you drop in on one of the Mt. Baker threads in the "general e-juice" part of the forum somebody there will gladly help you out.

Mt. Baker Plus is the more chatty fun thread ... your questions will be answered but between posts about silly animals ... favorite music ... on-line games ... and generally teasing one another ... they are great helpful people.

Mt. Baker II is the more serious and to the point thread ... minimal off topic chat but also a great bunch of people
