I don't know. With some of these vendors, like Sour Batch Kidz, there's no telling what they put in their e-liquid...
As a DIYer I have a lot of flavors, and all of them are clear or yellowish. I would rather worry about colorings and fillers in juice than about "secret ingredient". And non of my DIY juices was ever dark, even after months of standing on table. But some vendors add colors to their flavors for DIYers... Like red in raspberry flavor (it should be clear).

I have some e-liquids which are mostly clear which get a little color to them after being in a tank for a while. I figured it is the nicotine oxidizing. I vape what would now be considered really high nic- 2.4-3.6%...

If i were a vendor and someone contacted me with a similar question i'd probably wind them up the same way,:).

Some of my flavourings are coloured and some aren't. When i D.I.Y a liquid with 24 mg nicotine it goes yellow pretty quick, the same day, but if the liquid only has 9 mg it stays clear for weeks. Obviously if the flavouring is coloured then the juice tends to get darker the longer it sits.

I DIY my juice and while some turn amber in a day or two, this flavor never changes color. This bottle has been steeping for about 2 1/2 weeks. It's 3mg nic and 20% flavor. My experience tells me that the color has more to do with the flavorings than the nicotine.

Ill be honest, If I contacted a vendor with a concern like this and got a smart answer like that back I would probably send them their juice back COD and not buy from them again. These are products that we are putting into our bodies, and we have every right to ask questions if we have any concerns, and if the answer isnt to our liking we then can opt to not buy from them again. There have been serious issues in the past with certain companies adding things lie Titanium Dioxide to give a juice a nice milky translucent color and the now we have the whole DA/AP mess... We as educated (or edumakated in some cases) consumers should keep on top of what we are using and hold suppliers to a certain level of transparency.

I notice that the juice brand is not listed... Is there any chance the OP would post that?

Here I have 10% nic base in VG and some in PG, both oxidized very quickly, weeks. I say weeks because the specific bottles I speak of are more than 5 years old.

No off flavor of any perceptible kind, from myself, or others that are here using my juice. Sure, it's likely reduced in potency, so what at that level.

Now I also have some from a different vendor, purchased same time period @ 6% , discolored as well, not nearly as drastic as the 10%

Now mixing these down to something consumable, nearly non detectable color wise at 2.4% , at .3 it's clear as a bell in VG

I'd say the juice you received was fresher or just made. The other juice may have been stored for a few weeks.

Or they could have changed flavor companies. I've noticed differences in colors between one flavor company and another with the same flavor.
Yep. Flavor companies can add food colorings. I would not buy colored flavors (I do not buy juices anymore).
I have 3 coffee flavors. One of them is of the same color as black coffee. Two others are just yellowish. Guess which one I do not use?

I agree. My coffee recipe has a very slight tint of amber.

Some coffee and tobacco flavors are dark, most of the time it isn't due to colouring being added as it is more do to with the natural flavorings. Almost all flavorings do have some natural flavor to them.

But I do agree that the nic shouldn't be the reason for a juice to turn amber in colour. I would be more concerned if the nic did change colour as that is a sign of old nic. I have a bottle of nic I have been using for almost a year now and it is still clear (no it isn't in the freezer).
