I started at 24mg (1 - 2 pack marlb ultra light smoker) - find its way too high to vape the way I do (pacifer-like) so now Im on 12mg for the all day-er and 24mg for when I want to quash a craving (like maybe a couple of hits will do it)
I'm actually wanting to drop down further for the all day-er - see if that satisfies the urge to 'smoke' (you know when you just want something to puff away on in yer mouth not because you NEED one) and see how that goes. It IS though, very much trial and error - headaches are bad, upset tummy is bad - mens either vape less (no way taht's happening lol) or drop nic level.
Every person is different.
The good news is that almost all the suppliers can do 0 mg nic juice that you can use to cut nic juice (to reduce the amount) or just smoke on its own.

HMMM,,,,,,im at 30mg mixing my own levels and intake is about 5-6ml's of Juice a day. I smoked two packs of Newport a day when I quit last Sept. I started at 24 but found it was not high enough. Like eJoker though I would like to be cutting down and start sometime soon, getting to 0mg Nic but it is going to be a long road for me. Smoking for 30yrs it not something I can just quit, the Nic that is, so weaning down is going to my best bet, I like everything about 24-32mg for now but plan on starting to drop 2mg a month starting in Feb and see what happens this way..!!

Its better to start out too high imo - you can easily cut down higher nic with store bought VG (tho obviously a doubler in the same flavor as your cart is better, but you do what you can for a fast fix) but its hard to up the nic unless you happen to own some liquid nic - which most people don't (because its toxic..lol).

I agree. Comfortable nicotine levels really vary from person to person.

I was a 1.5+ a day "lights" smoker and I got lucky. I ordered 24mg e-juice right off the bat with the intention of cutting it with VG if it turned out to be too much. I didn't have to cut it. I'm comfortable vaping 24mg.

I'm like CaptJay - It's like a pacifier :)

I did give myself a big headache the first night or two though! I think it was just me - getting used to *vaping* - I was really hitting hard on it in the beginning.

There's a learning curve and you'll figure out quickly what works for you, where your comfort level is nic-wise, etc.

Are you smoking it the way you'd smoke a cigarette? I found that in the beginning, if I tried to "power-vape" the way I smoked - dragging on it non-stop... ugh, I'd give myself a headache, and a stomach ache.

On about day three, I'd figured out my comfort-zone basically and it only got easier from there.

Experiment a little with different nicotine milligram levels and listen to your body. You'll be an expert in no time :)

How do you do that? Cut it down I mean.

The easiest way is with Vegetable Glycerin. It's available at drugstores, and craft stores. Wilton's VG (food grade) can be found with the cake decorating stuff in the craft section of some Wal-Marts, or whatever big-chain craft stores are local to you.

Depending on what flavor you're wanting to cut - you may lose flavor by cutting with VG. Try it on a very small amount, for example - 1.5ml of your nic-juice with 1.5ml VG - 3ml that has 50% less nicotine. (you can do it so you end up with 1ml just to see if it works for you)

If you have a flavor that just tastes too strong, this works really well.

I have a glass dropper that's marked and graduated from .25ml to 1ml which came as the dropper in my now favorite e-liquid. You can also use those medicine syringes that come with children's liquid medicine, or you can eyeball it - it's really not an exact science. Play around with small amounts so you don't find yourself wasting e-juice if you end up not liking the result.

The other way is by ordering what they call "doublers". Flavored VG or PG (or Flavored VG/PG mix) with 0 nicotine. If you can find a flavor that is similar or the same as what you want to cut, all you'll lose is the nicotine.

There are several suppliers that offer "doublers". I haven't done this, so I can't suggest a supplier, but I am sure a lot of people will chime in with suggestions.

i know that for me i use 24mg during the day when i am at school/work; then i use 18mg when i get home (i just start to mix my 24mg with a 12mg. need to be sure to have compatible flavors on hand though); then 12mg until i go to bed.

however, i do still compliment this regime with an occasional analog (from a pack a day before PV to 1.5 packs a week now). if i wanted to quit i would get some 36mg for when i needed a kick in the balls.

Ok... i may need to up my nic levels on this stuff. I'm a solid pack+ a day marlb light smoker for 20+ years now, real consistent, I really need my daily dosage (you know what i mean i'm sure). I have some 16mg nic pre-filled carts and liquids on hand, but these numbers you all are throwing out are considerably higher than that.

Been doing this vaping for a whole few hours now. I'm getting my fix, but i'm going back to the ecig more frequently than I would burn a ..... I'm not sure if that's because of the novelty of the thing or because of the lack of fiendish nicotine addiction satisfaction or what?

I quess i have all weekend to figure that out ;)

So far the 40x is thumbs up in my book. If this vaping madness is still looking good after a week or so, I'll probably have to pick up another device that allegedly produces monster amounts of vapor (like the 510) just to see what all the hub-bub is about there.

I've tried my 401 and 403 so far. The 403 is about identical in length to a marlboro light (my smoke). The 401 is considerably longer and has a considerably stronger battery (more mAh). I was expecting more vapor production out of the stronger battery, but that's not really the case. The fully charged 403 produces just as much vapor as the fully charged 401. And get this... my tiny 403 doesn't cut off as fast as the much larger 401.

I haven't tried the 402 yet, its in between in length, but is spec'd with the same mAh as the 401.

I haven't had this stuff long enough to evaluate how long a battery charge lasts yet. But if 2x 403s with some modest recharging would get me thru a day, that would be super cool. I could get a super small charging case to carry two 403's, and have the 401 (or perhaps a honkin 510) waiting in the wings somewhere (like my care of home).

- VaporMadness (not an altogether inappropriate name)

I have a number of different strengths.... still!

I range from 24 mg when I feel I need it... down to 8 mg when I will be chain vaping. I'm usually in the middle somewhere. I was vaping primarily 11 mg liquid, but I feel I'm better at 16 mg.

You can cut the nicotine level down with VG or PG - but both will reduce the flavor. I recommend that you get small sizes of a variety of flavors and a variety of nicotine levels. Then experiment and find what works best for you.

Oh! For me, nicotine level is somewhat dependent on flavor! Some flavors seem to require higher nicotine levels for me to be satisfied. It is strange....

Good luck!

:)

I am switching from analog to e smoking. I was smoking 1 1/2 packs a day of lights. I found that I vape so much I get dizzy with high nicotine level juice. How do you figure the right level of nicotine?

Dvape has done a lot of research about this. You should read Dvape's posts and blog.

BTW, most juices containing nic: The nic content is per ml, so if your bottle is labelled 18 mg it contains 18 mg nic per ml.
