I am cross posting this from the Tennessee sub-forum. I think it fits here as well and I wanted to see if anyone else had an experience buying juices locally.

Tobacco Mart on Highway 58 *in Chattanooga TN* (next to the Food Lion) now carries 4 ML bottles of juice.

It's damned expensive right now. The owner/manager saw my reaction and talked to me about how cheap I could get it from China. He stated that he would talk to his supplier about it and try to get the price down.

Meanwhile, I went ahead and bought two bottles because I want to support any local vendor that is willing to meet my needs. I bought a Chocolate and a Marlboro flavor. Both are O.K. and are vapeable. (I'm thinking repackaged Chinese juice, but I'm not experienced enough to know.) Right now they also have Salem, Vanilla, and Almond. The fella I talked to said he would get more flavors soon.

You have to ask for them. They are not displayed. They are in a drawer behind the counter.

And how much per ML you ask? After taxes it was $2.18. 8-o

So I'm asking Chattanoogans and North Georgians to head over there, complain about the price, then buy a couple bottles. I want this trend to continue!!

OH!!! And any of you juice vendors/suppliers out there that want to contact this guy and get your juices in his store... well... I'd appreciate it! 1. Because you won't rip me off on the pricing, and 2. because I want more selection.

His supplier might be overcharging him in the first place. He could get juice from a cheap US supplier like Viking Vapor for a hell of a lot less and pass the savings on to his customers.

My thoughts exactly!! But I'm sure he has no idea how to begin...

Here is the address and phone number:

4850 Highway 58 # 130
Chattanooga, TN 37416-1847
(423) 855-6818

Call him suppliers!! :p

I would expect to pay more at a retail store, since a retail store has overhead that an online store doesn't have. The so-called "standard" retail markup is 40%. I can't imagine how they could compete with an online store's price and variety. Just look at the markup as a "premium" that you pay for the convenience of instant gratification. :)

At over $2/ml, they're charging a lot more than standard retail markup, unless they're overpaying for the juice in the first place. There are a dozen suppliers selling for around $.50/ml, which is still only about $1/ml with shipping and markup figured in. I'm sure the stuff they're selling is crappy China juice, so they could get a better product for less (which they could in turn sell for less) if they just shopped around a bit.

I understand what you are saying, and it would be great to find a nice eCig store locally. I'm just saying that the prices will be more than an online vendor can get away with. I also think that a retail, eCig-ONLY store would be a tough way to make a living, unless it was in a great location! A small to mid-sized town just doesn't have that many vapers (yet!). A nice "tobacco shop/cigar shop/electronic cigarette shop" sort of place might be more lucrative. Here's one I just found in Boise, ID:

Hannifans Cigar‎
1024 W Main St, Boise, ID 83702-5705
(208) 342-7473‎

"Check out a free product demonstration from 5-8 p.m. and feast your eyes on a sample of the most innovative electronic cigarettes on the market."

Now, this is a smart businessman. The only cigar/tobacco shop owners I hear about are the ones moaning about how eCigs could hurt their businesses. What a bunch of dopes.

i thought that too when i went to LnG in a mall. but that was before i found the ECF and the vendors here.

retail on the parts i sell have 67% markup.

i really dont mind paying a little more for convenience. but when i found out that LnG was marking up 200% or better i decided to keep buying online.

i have thought of buying a bunch of the disposables and selling to the local smoke shops hoping they might start selling more stuff too.
