Heya,

So I just got some pyrex tanks so that I can finally use a bunch of flavors that I couldn't use in my standard Kanger EVOD plastic tank set up... Before I knew about tank crackers, I had put some into the original plastic tanks... Nothing noticeable at first, but now they're leaking heavily - I think they've cracked. Anyway, that's not a problem anymore since I have Kanger ProTank 2 Mini pyrex tanks now... My question is this:

I went into my stash today to look at what tank cracking flavors I have that had been put away and I'd forgotten about since I can now use them. I noticed that a whole bunch of the flavors have changed color - as in, the fluid has gone from near clear orange or near clear yellow to DARK purplish colors. They were stored in a cool, dark place, in an air conditioned house. So what's up with this? Is it natural or do I need to throw them away? Do flavors expire or go bad? Thanks in advance to those who respond to this... You guys, this forum, have literally saved my life. I couldn't quit smoking (fifteen years, thirty cigarettes a day), until I found this place. Much love <3

Juice generally changes color to "darker" as it ages/steeps. That's a good thing and perfectly normal and expected. As a matter of fact, in the DIY world we use an Ultrasonic Cleaner to accelerate the steeping process and a darker color compared to fresh is exactly what we look for. Keep them and vape them.

Yes, juice can expire/go bad after a period of time at room temp. "Roughly", around a year. Caps on please. You can preserve a juice longer by placing it in your refrigerator in glass or preserve it even longer by insuring it's in the proper glass container and placed in your freezer. In the freezer case we are talking multiple years. EDIT: In the case of juice stored in your refrigerator the steeping/aging is slowed down. In the case of juice stored in your freezer the steeping/aging is effectively stopped but since reliable sources have only done this for about 4 years we will just need to wait for longer time frames to evaluate this last method.

Since your new to vaping it's important to note that your taste buds are still recovering and changing. This happens to all of us and is perfectly normal. My point in raising this issue is to keep all your juice even if today you don't like it. Six months down the road your taste buds have changed and you might love a juice you initially did not like. This "surprise event" is rather common as we all travel down the vaping journey highway.

HTH

That is fairly common. Had some juice i made that went from a light amber/orange look to medium brown. Like xaiver said if it goes dark in the tank then the coil may need to be cleaned or replaced and i would do a good cleaning on the tank while i was at it. Can use alcohol or just soapy water if that is all you have. FYI a water pick works well on cleaning tanks and coils.
