I just started vaping yesterday late afternoon and it has been some trial and error with my e-juices, trying to find one that works well for me. I know flavor and taste are subjective so I’ll refrain for asking for a good choice. I am currently trying some from both myfreedomsmokes.com and BlueMist vaping. All are between 16 and 18 mg nic, an 80/20 pg/vg blend and a tobacco flavor of some kind. They all seem just a bit too harsh with a TH that is just a bit much for my personal taste.

BlueMist vaping included a trial of Rum Raisin 8 mg nic level, VG only. It is the right smoothness (almost to the point of being to smooth) just needs a bit more TH to make it a truly great vape for me. So my question is if I were to get other e-juice in a 16 mg nic, VG only would that most likely correct my issues? Or is this something to do with the tobacco flavors that give them the harsher taste and grater TH?

I would just order some more of the Rum Raisin in a higher nic level but BlueMist Vaping does not have it listed on their site. So any advice would be greatly appreciated. I think this has also opened my eyes to flavors other than tobacco!:)

Tobacco flavors are going to taste sorta like fresh tobacco smells; not like a lit cigarette :).

Sounds like you might want to try some juices at 50/50 PG/VG or higher VG, since you say that the 100% VG is 'almost too smooth'. The PG will supply some TH.

Check various vendors that offer 'sampler packs'. This is a good way to test juices without ending up with large amounts of ones you don't like.

Good Luck and :vapor:

Any samples you get from BlueMist is a flavor that is new and they get an idea if people like it or not. If it gets a positive response, they will add it to the site. Thats how I first tried their honeysuckle tobacco juice. I never would have ordered a juice like that, but it's actually really good. Has a light, refreshing taste and doesn't taste flowery or perfumey. I emailed them and asked when it was going to be offered on the site. If you want to find out when that juice will be offered email them. They respond quickly. The honeysuckle tobacco was listed about 2 weeks after I tried the free sample. Cherry robacco was their last new flavor and that's on the site now too. So I guess rum raisin will be their next new flavor. If you go on the site and hit the new products tab, you can see the most recently listed juices and the date when they were added. If you keep checking that the rum raisin juice should show up soon

I found I prefer to mix my own blend . . . not truly a DIYer because I buy ready to use juice and just mix the ratio/flavor that I prefer. I like vapor with a slight TH using medium-strong nic, so my current recipe is 2 parts 24 mg menthol tobacco PG, 1 part 24 mg menthol tobacco VG, and 1 part mint chocolate chip VG. This give "me" a good vapor, smooth but noticable TH, and aroma of a good pipe tobacco. My juice vendor labels the juices as 100% pg or vg although many on this forum state that is nearly never the true case. I'm happy, so if I change juice vendors I'm sure I'll be able to adjust my blend to suit.

Best wishes in finding your "sweet spot"!!

Thanks, you have all answered my questions!

@ mynameisrob - Thanks for the explanation on those samples and that it is a testing ground for new flavors. I'll have to send them an email.

@ player30 - As soon as I have enough post I'll check out the Alabama group! look forward to it and it is nce to know there are others in AL vaping!

@ Trucapri - Thanks! Because of your post I grabbed the rum raisin and one of my other liquids and combined them to make about a 70/30 to 60/40 PG/VG and I'll play with it from there. Once I get the level down I can work on flavor.

Its also noteworthy to mention you may find different situations call for a slight difference in juice. First thing of a morning and after dinner in the evenings I prefer a stronger TH. Since I don't vary my nic, I try to keep a few cartos with a little less VG mixed up for those times. The same for "at the office" where I don't want vapor lingering and drawing attention, I use atty/carts (which has a more quiet sizzle) with a little lower VG.

You'll find what works . . . have fun experimenting!!
