I have been vaping a Blue Raspberry Lemonade and have recently noticed that it has been breaking down the filler in my Boge 510 cartomizer, I know this because I can see it floating around in the juice and a funny rubber taste. Is this due to being a citrus or my ego-c or just a bad cartomizer? I have read citrus flavors sometime crack tanks but I haven't seen anything about cartomizer issues.

I've never heard of that happening with cartos, either. Out of interest, what exactly do you mean by

I know this because I can see it floating around in the juice...

You shouldn't really be able to see any juice in a Boge 510. I mean, when a carto's good and full the top of the filler will look like a Slushy but there should be enough juice in there for you to see anything floating around!

I see...that makes a lot more sense! Are you sure it's filler and not just dust or something else that's got in there while you were refilling? Either that or it's the tank itself. Just a thought. Otherwise I'm all out of ideas on this one. Hopefully someone will be along with some fresh insight soon.

Hi

A J tank is plastic, correct? Lemonade can be a problem. You might want to have a look at my blog:

Blu Raspberry Lemonade, mmm that sounds nice. Where'd you pick that up from? Sorry to derail your thread lol. But yeah its probably the plastic thing is my guess too.

Yeah, I just looked at the Electronicstix site (I know they sell J Tanks) and they offer replacement polycarbonate tubes, which suggests to me that the tube the tanks come with a also polycarb.

My concern is what the OP is seeing floating around. Looking at my own carto tank I'm vaping now, I can't imagine how filler would get out of the hole - but, when my viv nova started breaking down from cinnamon, the first thing I noticed were thin wisps of plastic coming off. They were very fine, like little strands of hair.

Yea they look like little hairs and from your blog it would seem that it is the tank just breaking down from the juice. I wonder if they would refund the tank towards a glass one. The juice is from high caliber, and its super tasty which bums me out about the tank.

They might not have anything in glass - Protanks and carto tanks are all that I know of at the moment. Smkotech has a small glass DCT tank out, but again, it's a carto tank. A metal Vivi Nova tank would work, as long as it's all metal and not the kind with a window - and there are polypropylene carto tanks (look for frosty plastic, not clear). You can also use regular cartos.

It never hurts to ask, but I seriously doubt that they will refund the tank. They'll likely tell you to buy a replacement tube as Ocelot pointed out in her post and to refrain from using flavors that will crack tanks.

Or they'll recommend you purchase one of their glass tanks. ElectronicStix.Com · ALL THE J TANKS IN ONE SPOT

* I've noticed more and more tank vendors adding a warning or caution that their plastic tanks might be vulnerable to certain flavors like cinnamon and citrus flavors. Other vendors seem to take for granted that vapors should be aware of the risks of using those flavors with plastic tanks.

It's my personal opinion that there is no reason for vendors or manufacturers to sell products made from polycarbonate plastic knowing that there are better alternatives like pyrex or polypropylene that can be used in its place. Pyrex would only add a couple more dollars in price to their product.
