I'm wondering if anyone else is having a problem with certain flavors of liquid giving them heartburn?? I've been vaping since mid Dec. and not having any problems. Then about 2 1/2 weeks ago I noticed that when I vaped Cash Cola or Riskee I would get heartburn. And the longer I vaped it the worse it got. I would need 3 to 4 Tums to get it under control. Now about 3 days ago the Strawberry started giving me heartburn after only 4 puffs.
The only one I seem to have no trouble with is the Menthol. I have read the other threads here on heartburn, but they don't seem to have been in regards to the flavors of liquid. All my stuff is from Steve and is still looking as it did when I received it so I don't feel that it is a problem from his end.
So has anyone else had this happen to them or am I alone in my weirdness???8-o:cry:

BigRed- Love the avatar!

You are definitely not alone! I have had a terrible time with heartburn, and have been wearing out my TumsEX and drinking more milk. I don't know if it has anything to do with the flavors or excessive vaping? I only use Marlboro. There seem to be times when its worse than others so I tend to think it's from over-vaping or possibly swollowing a little too much liquid. I have recently cut down to 11mg nic (I was using 16) and it has gotten better.

I also get all my liquids from Steve at PS, but like you I don't think it has anything to do with him.

Thanks Nitewriter. I just got some 11mg Strawberry in from Steve and I'm just now trying it in a clean tip.So far no burn. The other liquids are all 16mg.
You may be very right about the nic. strength. I wonder why the Menthol (16mg) doesn't bother me. Well now I'm going to have to order more liquid in low nic to mix with the 16mg stuff I have here. Here I come Steve!!!:DLOL

I have a minor ulcer so I have certainly noticed this. As stated here and in a bunch of other posts... the heartburn can be caused by the acidic increase in the gastrointestinal tract cause by the pure nicotine intake. Normally I would say lower the nic level.. but I must be honest... I have found it happens more with some flavors than others too (even at the same nic level). True Menthol from PureSmoker.. no prob... but some of the berrys did make it worse for me. Riskee juice seems to decrease the acid a bit. I also notice it less with the VG (NON PG) than the PG.

I was on (quite a dose of) meds for heartburn before I took up vaping. From that point on, I have been able to leave those meds behind completely. So cigs were a lot worse for me then e-cigs in that respect (well, in all respects but also this).
Having said that: I don't need meds anymore, but my stomach will probably always upset easily - and I do have to be careful (with what I eat and drink mainly). And as to vaping: I clearly am getting more heartburn if I use fruit-flavours too much.
I do happen to like them though... so what I have found to help me, is always have two e-cigs loaded: one with a fruit and one with something non-fruity (can be coffee, or fennel, or other herb-likes, or light tobacco-taste like camel or hilton; or real ruyan). Whenever I get warning of heartburn starting, I switch to the non-fruit; and after a while I can go back again no problem.
So for me it are the fruits that can give this problem.

I seem to be different to other people ....I did once give up smoking for a year.....and after a few months I started suffering really badly from heartburn...something I had never suffered from in my life before........and it only went away when I started smoking again..........I am hoping it was the nicotine and that vaping doesn't bring it back.

Well, I only seem to get heartburn symptoms (which are very short lived) if I take in too much nicotine in a single sitting or get a bit of liquid in my mouth.

As for the menthol not causing these symptoms, my guess is that it's likely due to the mint flavor naturally settling the stomach. My understanding is that it doesn't even need to be natural or leaf mint at all, only the flavor (i.e. restaurants giving away mint candies or chocolates after meals 'cause they don't want their customers to have a negative experience upon leaving.)

Whether that's true or not I can't say, it's only what I've heard and thought it made sense.

I first tried the JC brand and didn't have an issue, but I used the non PG. I ordered the PS liquid and now I think that I may have an ulcer. I too have been popping pepcid like crazy and I think that I will go back to JC although I don't like their flavors as much.

Question: How did changing over to vaping vs analogs make your heartburn react?

When I was smoking, I'd be up 5-6 times a night trying not to puke up acid! I tried alot of different things, the commercial acid reducers did nothing for me. Now, with vape instead of smoke, my heartburn has decreased markedly. I still have a whole song and dance to prevent the burn at night, and occasional flare up's during the day, but on the whole, less heartburn...

What I do is:
No food or drink at least 2 hours before bedtime.
Right before bed, eat a small bowl of popcorn, with a little water (note, LITTLE water, just enough to cut the salt on the popcorn. DON'T fill your stomach.) Doing this, I can sleep throughout the night with no acid back-ups.

If I have a flare up during the day: I try hard candy (minty works well, it's a natural stomach-settler) or a small amt of white soda (the carbonation brings up a burp, which gets rid of the trapped gas pushing the acid up.)
