E-liquid problems, need advice

*First I tried menthol 18mg 100% PG. too strong a throat hit, not enough nicotine -random vendor

*Then I tried red bull & strawberry 24mg 100% PG. throat hit way too strong, horrible spicy tongue burning taste- Liberty Flights

* I called vaporbomb and they suggested trying 50/50. So I got Banana, Zebra Stripe, & hypnotic mist all 50/50 18mg and I also got Fire N Ice & Arctic Ice 60VG/40PG 24mg.

When I open the bottle I can smell them and the scent is very strong, they all smell exactly how I would expect, but once I start vaping the flavors are dull, I can barely taste anything. The only thing I can taste pretty well is vapor on the exhale... and that is not very pleasant.

The only taste that is pronounced is the Fire N Ice (aka cinnabomb + menthol). I can taste a strong cinnamon taste, but I can't taste any menthol or mint. On the exhale I can still taste vapor, which I do not enjoy.

All in all I like this 50/50 & 60/40 better then the 100%PG which gives me a sore throat, but I feel like I am smoking air, and I don't feel like I'm getting anything out of it(I guess because now there is no throat hit).

I have tested these in carto's, cartridges, & tank and I get the same result out of all of them...except I found I hate the Boge carto's...too airy and they have a funny taste.

I am new to this (2 weeks in) and tired of wasting money and being disappointed.

Should I order lower vg and tell vapor bomb to add more flavoring, or will the flavor be a lot stronger with higher pg? Every time I take a hit I want the taste to be as pronounced as the first bite of chewing gum is. I want my tongue to think I am eating what ever the flavor it...if that makes sense.

I just need some feedback and advice.

First, welcome and there is "Alabama Vapes" group on this site. Come join us!

Next, finding the right flavor and mix does take time. You will throw money away finding what fits you.Trying in small bottles keeps you from wasting too much. For you I suggest trying a mix between 100% & 50% pg. I find that I am most pleased between 70% & 80% pg.

As I always do, I will suggest Halo E liquids. It is perfect for me, but YMMV.

Hi Kyle. VG bases are thicker and will give you great vapor, but PG bases give the better throat hit and hold flavor better. It sounds to me that you need something with a higher ration of PG. Maybe an 80/20 mix? Good luck!!!

You might also take a look at the Classified and Swaps forum to see about trading some of the juices you don't like. Might save some money that way. All in all, in the short time I've been vaping, I've discovered that unless you hit on a combination right away that you love, you're going to waste some money. BUT, in the long run, you'll probably be better off than you would if you'd stayed smoking analogs.

You could also go to the PIF thread and trade your juice off for 80/20 or 70/30. They also have a treasure chest where you can sometimes get a couple juices to try... and sometimes people there will just up and offer to send you a sample to try. PIF is great just remember to read their rules and give back if you take.

I go with a 70/30 mix, you get a great amount of vapor with a perfect throat hit.

What kind of equipment do you have? When you say cartridge, does that mean you're vaping with an atty?? For me, nothing vapes like an atomizer... and I want it all: Flavor, vapor, throat hit, and consistency. An atty at the proper resistance really delivers.

70/30 pg/vg is my blend of choice.

If you're using a 510 or another variation of a slim-battery pv, you might be stuck... but if you have an Ego/riva/inferno/tornado or a mod, you can get low-resistance attys/carts that will up burn your juice a little hotter and bring out some of the flavors. Also, if you're at 6v, you might be burning too hot with a regular atty... try higher-resistance (ikenvape.com) We need more info and we can help!!

Lastly, backwoodsbrew.net is my juice of choice... I've done a lot of searching, I stopped when I found them...
