E-Pipe questions, users please reply

So I've been doin the vape with my 510 for a bit now. But I have some questions for the e-pipe users out there.

1. It seems that the e-pipe smokers like it because they smoke it like a ciggie and inhale the smoke. From what I recall about pipes, you don't inhale the smoke traditionally, right?

2. If one did smoke it in the traditional-non-inhaling way, do you absorb enough of the nic in your mouth and back of throat?

3. What's your personal fav pipe?

4. Does anyone make a big ol' Sherlock Holmes type pipe? That would be killer.

2. If one did smoke it in the traditional-non-inhaling way, do you absorb enough of the nic in your mouth and back of throat? From what I have read, we absorb most of the nic from our PV's through our mouths and throats now...because of the breakdown of the vapor, very little get absorbed through the lungs. (From what I have read)

3. What's your personal fav pipe? I just ordered a DSE-601, should be here early next week. I have wanted one for a couple weeks, and found a US Supplier that got them in stock. (myPVshop.com)

4. Does anyone make a big ol' Sherlock Holmes type pipe? That would be killer. The biggest one I have found is the DSE-601, and all the reviews I have watched, it is a monster vapor maker...do a search on youtube for dse601 review.

I have a DSE601 which has served well for about two or three months so far. YMMV but the 601's design is a little weak. It works well and produces a vapor cloud unlike anything else Ive tried. You have to mix your juice a tad on the strong side if you want to taste it though. Other downside is that juice eventually seeps into the bottom of the bowl below the battery housing. If you don't drain it often enough, it will spill out if over-turned, making quite the mess. Just don't overdo the cart refilling and you should be fine. Mine has started cracking along the top of the bowl and has several discolored spots on the wooden section. Easily remedied by purchasing a new atty/bowl. I haven't bothered yet as it doesn't appear to affect the functioning, only the appearance. I'll eventually buy a new atty and a lady pipe to complete my kit as soon as funds allow.

No throat hit because your not inhaling. You would eventually get a headrush from the nic just the same as you are absorbing the nic. Probably not as fast though. Unlike Billy C....I do inhale.
3. What's your personal fav pipe?
I have a DSE601 and am looking into getting a "lady pipe" eventually. I use it as a secondary device. I am currently using a DSE701 e-cigar for primary use while at the house, and the 601 when I'm parked in front of the tube or reading. The pipe is a little ungainly while up and about, hence the cigar which drops easily into a pocket. I use my L88b cig w/ PCC when I'm at work or out on the town so as to not be bothered with strange looks or questions.

That would be a "Meershaum Calabash" if I'm not too much mistaken. No one makes a commercial one that I'm aware of but the 601 played well when I dressed up as Holmes for Halloween. Looking at a real one, I suppose you could take the inner parts from a 601 and with a little modding get it to work but I think the cost would be a bit high.

Hi I had the 601 pipe and the min/ladies pipe both, I prefred the 601 it was a beautiful pipe,,and yes i could inhale the vape. I smoked it just like a reg e-cig. The mini pipe a lot of people didnt like but i seemed to get more flavor from the juice in it and it produced a decent amount of vapor but not as much as the 601 pipe, It was kind of messy to fill the the cart on the 601 though, I hope that helps

I have only had my 601 for 1 full day, so still a work in progress, but finding it just the coolest toy of the year so far. My main response is to issue #1: how to smoke this thing. I don't know how everybody else feels, but what I like about smoking is not so much the nicotine, but the taste of the tobacco, and the feeling of my lungs full of smoke (as weird as it sounds). So when I smoke a cigarette, I tend to keep it in for a few of seconds before I exhale. Filling that void is pretty hard when vaping. The 601 gets the job done for me, though.
But what enigma said is usually true. I think most pipe smokers just puff and puff, and kind of breathe in their own second-hand smoke. You wouldn't usually fill your mouth and inhale it all. But that's how I've been using the 601: puff it, and inhale as much as I can catch. Watch asidrave's excellent video review for an example, although he may be drawing directly into his lungs.
As for deciding what kind to get, it seems like you have just the mini and the 601, and I'm still looking for a US distributor of either one.

BigBoxStore.com has 601 pipes for around $43.00 and 701 cigars for $23.00. Down side is the shipping cost. They do have some cool non-ecig related stuff there too.

I love my 601. I use it for several hours every day. usually 1 battery gets me thru the day. Awesome vapor. The original carts make the best vapor i think, but you can top them off with other juices.

the pipe isnt really wood. It's a pressed composite, covered over with a thin veneer type laminate to give it the wood look. Someone mentioned dark spots, and splits. If you do not drain this pipe every night (upside down in a small bowl) it will saturate the composite press-board, and it will darken / expand, and cause splits that leak in the bowl.

If you order it from Heavens gifts, they have a 12 month warranty on the atomizer. You should get 2, so you can drain them for a full day between uses. HG will honor the warranty as long as you use the manufacturers carts. It is only about $7 to ship an atomizer back to china on the slow boat, so ordering from them, even with the increased shipping costs, is a pretty good deal, for the 12 month warranty.
