Hey... brand new to the forum and thanks to all you guys I'm pretty sold on e-smoking. Due to Smokey_Joe's Sedansa review I'm pretty sure I'm gonna check those out.

I love premium, hand-rolled, long-filler cigars (that to truly enjoy you never inhale) and I will probably never quit because it is a risk I am willing to take for the enjoyable hobby. I don't however love cigarettes/cigarillos (etc) and have gotten caught up with them in the past year. I wanted to ask a general question about the feeling of e-smoking...

I think the main feeling of smoking I enjoy is the smoke in my lungs and the "high" or "lightheaded" feeling it causes (especially when holding the smoke in). I assumed that is due to the chemicals in the smoke but I guess it's possible it's the nicotine or the fact I'm inhaling something thick....

Anyways, long story short, do you experience this feeling when e-smoking or is the misty vapor not enough to cause it?

Welcome to the forum. I, too, enjoy cigars -- but they're too darn expensive. Even though I'm an e-smoker, though, I still enjoy pipe smoking daily. In fact, I use a number of stay-off-cigarette products: snus, nasal snuff and e-devices. I just use what I feel I need at the moment.

To be honest, in my experience e-smoking doesn't provide the same feeling as cigarette smoking. You just can't duplicate the feel of smoke by substituting vapor. But I have learned a few things.

I began with "medium" nicotone cartridges with a "light tobacco" flavor. Essentially, there was no taste, no kick. I could suck that thing all day without any feel -- lungs or brain. Then I moved to "high" and finally to the 21mg e-liquid from e-Cig. It doesn't get any higher. I ordered "flue-cured" and "regular" tobacco flavors. Now I can taste the vapor and it will spin me a bit after five minutes of use.

FYI: I was a 30-cigarette-a-day smoker for many decades. I need a high blood nicotine level at all times. I wake up and start cramming nicotine into my body just to get me back to Planet Earth from Want-a-Cigarette Hell created during the night hours.

Sounds like you need "maximum strength" too. As some have pointed out, however, it depends on how you use your e-cig. If you need it at all times, go for a lower nicotine strength so you don't get ill. If you use it to replace a cig every 30 minutes, go for high strength nicotine cartridges.

Hope this helps. Each smoker really needs to work out what works for him/her individually. I'm just now getting there!

I too am new to the whole world of e-cig. i am sooo lost! i joined this forum just tonight to get some help. Here are my 3 main questions:
1 - does the tabaco flavors come from real tabbaco (and hence a risk for carcinegans)?
2 - what is the best e-cig - I am looking for cigerette size, look and feel - and for the best price and a reputable company?
3 -some people seem to use cartriges while others liquesd...confused.
Thanks all!!

A lot of the "high" is due to the carbon monoxide which is something you won't get from vaping. However, many vapers find a reasonable substitute in the effects of higher nicotine juices after a bit of experimentation with levels. There is no single "right" answer but definitely listen to the experienced advice you get here from those that have been down that road.

This might have been better in its own thread so as to not hijack this one, but we're all friends here, right? :p

1. I believe it all depends on the juice vendor. I'd go looking in General E-Liquid Discussion for more informaton.
2. There isn't really a "right" answer for that either. It depends wholly on what you are looking for. Most people here will suggest either a Joye510 from cignot or the KR808D from various sites for new users. Those seem to represent the most reliable workhorses of the two major types - 3 piece and 2 piece.
3. All of them use cartridges or in the case of the KR808D and similar models, cartomizers. Both types are filled with juice. The juice is what you are inhaling after it is vaporized by the atty.

For both of you I would definitely suggest hitting up The ECF Library and reading the 6 part Wonderful World of Vaping stickies.

Welcome aboard and happy vaping to both of you!

Ans: Most all of them do not come from real tobacco. They're just simulated flavorings

If you are interested in "tobacco" flavored e-juices, the Halo Freedom E Juice from HaloCigs is a popular option amongst members of ecf.

when I smoked analogs I would only feel the headrush/lightheaded buzz on the first cig in the morning, or after abstaining for many hours (plane trip).

that 1st cig morning buzz was something I was worried about giving up. However after a few days I didn't even notice it was gone and I wasn't missing out on anything after all.
In fact my morning now start off better and I feel more alert because I'm no longer shocking my system with all those chemicals every morning after my body spent all night healing itself from the previous days smoking.

the good news is, vaping gives a nice "throat hit" which I am able to enjoy every time I take a drag, not just first one in the morning. To me it feels like a miniature version of that cigarette buzz, but you feel it in your throat and its only for a split second...hard to explain. but I find that that throat hit is better and more enjoyable than smoking analogs were

I too am a new e smoker so I'll chime in from my experience.

I started by getting fooled by the Smoking Everywhere thing at the mall.. waste of $$$$

I went to a BluCig, I quite enjoy it. The charging pack is fantastic, especially when I'm in a 5 hr car ride. The flavors are really good too.

I also just got a 510 I bought off my friend (he didn't take to it, why? because after getting all his stuff.. I realized he was using flavor concentrate.. not ejuice >_<)

I go back and forth between the 510 and the Blu during the day. The 510 hits harder and makes more smoke, but the battery doesn't last that long for me. I prefer the blu while driving since I don't have to hold a button down.

As far as ejuices I am still trying them out. But I have switched to refilling my carts, for all of my ecigs, including the blu.

As far as the throat hit, I experience it with both (I use high strength juice). Definitely more so with my 510 though, especially if its a tobacco flavor. Personally I prefer fruity flavors and such myself, when I smoked cigs I always stuck to flavored until they got all banned (a large part of me switching).

I smoked tobacco for over 45 years. I do recall in the early days (when I was 12 years old or so) that I smoked because of the head rush. But that went away over the years.

I enjoyed smoking pipes and rolling my own cigs.

What seems to work for me with these PVs is the cloud of vapor. Nicotine strength, doesn't matter. Taste, didn't matter, cause I couldn't taste anything until just recently (nine months into vap'n exclusively).
If I can get big huge clouds of vapor I'm a happy camper. Which is why I use the 5v and 6v mods with 510, 801 or 302 attys.

This e-cig has a fun learning curve. Your experimentation is as much fun as the vap'n itself. Take your time. The journey is the real fun, not just the destination.

I didn't get the head rush with cigarettes but after 40 years of smoking 3 packs a day I didn't expect it anymore. I have been vaping for 11 months now and finally found it satisfying. . I rarely think about smoking a cigarette anymore which is hard for me to believe. It takes time but you can eventually be satisfied with ecigs. I vape 36 mg.and usually vape constantly. I find if you wait between vapes it is much better. I finally settled on a 510. I do not fool with refilling cart, etc. That just got to time consuming and messy. I just drip now and find it provides more vapor and a better throat hit.

Later you may want to look into mod. They have longer battery life and usually produce more vapor and better throat hit.

Welcome to the forum. Without this forum I would not have been vaping this long. It has been very educational.

You will feel it but you need to stick with flavors at strengths of 24 and above. Anything less will just satisfy cravings and if you're a heavy cigar/cig smoker, you prob won't feel anything at all!

(1) No idea, but I doubt it
(2) Joye 510, hands down -- go to cignot.com for great service and prices
(3) dripping liquid is the best method I have found

I'm a total newbie as well. Just got the 510 starter package I ordered and have been trying it out. I honestly don't get much "throat hit" or flavor at all, but I do get a nice little cloud of vapor.

What do you guys mean when you say "dripping liquid"? I've just been using the cartridge that came with the starter pack (but I also ordered some extra juice). I just don't know what to do with the juice haha.

Also, what are mods?

Thanks.

You drip the liquid directly into the atomizer. It's a great way to get the most out of your liquid!
