e-vic Head Housing Mod

So, I have had the same issue as many other people with my evic head separating after a catastrophic fall. I had an idea to build a new housing, which mounts to the original battery tube and retains all of the original electronics. The very first step in this process was relatively easy. I have fully disassembled the head. What I have envisioned is a fully stainless head (or brass, how pretty would that be?) with a window insert of clear plastic or Pyrex which would function the same way as the original. The trick to this rebuild is that I have zero experience in engineering or machining. Does anybody have any thoughts on how to begin that process and the approximate the cost for the materials?

I would probably go with a box if you don't have machining experience or tools. Cuz I think you could buy 5 or 6 evics for the price of a cheap lathe. Not to mention learning to use it lol
