It's now throwing the E8 code with greater frequency, seems to be happening every 20 minutes or so. It's hard to translate that into "puffs" but all I can say is I'm vaping moderately. The draw and hit when it's working are just PERFECT, I just keep hoping it'll continue to work, but every time I think it might stop throwing the code it does it again. I'm almost certain that the epoxy on the battery contact is the culprit, but it's so hard I'm scared to try to scrape it off any more than I already have. Anyway, if anyone cares that's the update. I hope it doesn't quit firing all together as it vapes just awesome when it works.

Edit: Now it's throwing the code every 5th or 6th time I try to vape it.

I hope the "term" freak out didnt come off as a negative thing. Honestly I would be. Thats why I put the smiley face on it. I hate to hear things like this happening especially to a new owner of a product, especially such a product like the Provari because it is so highly prized. I dont have a Provari nor am I really into them, but I know they are a good product.

But I do know enough to say that if there is something down there on the battery contact blocking the power from Battery to the connection of the carto/atty etc. You are not going to get either power to fire it or its going to be intermittent. It sounds like a definate and valid concern. I would think that the makers and vendors of the Provari hear your problem that there is no way they can say you might be wrong, and any way with their reputation and large sales they would not want anyone with negative feelings on their product.

And Im with you, I would not scrape or put anything down there, you dont want any reason for them to say you messed with it and cancel the warranty. I really feel for you, you have no idea how many times this kinda situation happens to be. Seems that if there is a one in a billion flawed item out there I end up with it.

And another thing, vent all you want, it really helps, and venting here is the best place to do it. We are here to help you. And if it seems everyone is sort of repeating themselves with all the "try this" or "maybe its this" is because we all have been there and done that. Plus with a Provari its probably unheard of that there could be a defect. I does happen, Ive seen other thread with those rare problematic Provaris.

Vent, vent vent vent. etc.

I have a satin silver with blue led and blue with blue led, both gotten more than a month ago. I get ocassional valid errors when cartos go bad.but never an E8. I also don't see any sealant, not sure why yours even has that. Would love to see a pic of this to try to understand.

No no, I understand what you mean and I really appreciate your comment. You speak the truth sir! I'm sure whatever problem I have, ProVape will take care of it, the reason I'm sure is because of their great CS reputation. Unless they just never respond to the problem I have I would never trash the company and I KNOW the ProVari is awesome because when it works it's just amazing. I will try to borrow a camera tomorrow (er today) to take a pic of the epoxy stuff. Frankly I'm surprised it's firing at all with that gunk all over the terminal. Anyway I will update when I can, thanks guys!

I hope you didn't take what I said the wrong way either. I was just explaining what I have been doing and how I work with people. I don't explain things good in writing sorry if you took it as I was upset with what you said. I only have a phone to get on the Internet so its really hard for this ole lady to see things and reply lol. I did take a picture but I don't know how to post pics. I have been trying to figure it out. Anyway I compared it to the one the other person posted and it's not the same. I have a big glaub next to the post and also the clear stuff over it. So I'm hoping they will just fix it. So I can see what all the hype of the provari is about. Cause I have been saving for this since February when I first seen one. I loved the looks of them. I know it has to be the stuff in there doing it cause it cuts out on me and the batts I bought with this.

Beebo, I'm not sure what you mean. Please explain thank you

I am asking this because I just saw this post and looked inside my new one I just got yesterday. I have a Satin Mini with a blue LED. Are you sure there is gel there? The center post does appear to be different than my V1 is why I ask. The new Mini is VERY clean center post, clean as in it looks silver instead of goldish like my V1. I thought for a second mine had a gel on it also since it was so clean looking. I touched it with my finger and it is metal, it is so clean that it looks wet, like it could be a gel but it isn't.
Sucks you are having this problem though.
So far though, I am loving mine. It is lighter than my V1. So small it reminds me of my old GGTS in its shortest config, which I love. The blue LED's in my opinion should be the new default color, they seem so much clearer than the red.
I can not wait to get the ZAP on this thing.

Hey V8inDamma, on a freshly charged battery mine works for about 45 minutes of moderate to light vaping. As the battery goes down it happens with more and more frequency until it's like every 2 or 3 hits. Does yours do the same? Also BeeBop is talking about the e-mail you got from ProVape when you placed your order, showing your order number and whatnot (assuming you got one). @SkyWay, it really does look and feel like a smattering of clear epoxy. After I get a hold of a camera maybe it will be easier to make out. In the manual it says E8 can be a bad converter...what is a converter exactly?

Edit: After doing some google searches on "Provari E8" I'm seeing
that a lot of the people having the same problem as I am ordered
theirs in the last few months. Maybe they changed vendors on a part
and got a bad batch? Still no response from ProVape, guess they
don't answer e-mails on the weekends...

Edit2: I watched the ProVari cleaning video Busardo did http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56awzhAsl4c
and the battery post inside his ProVari looked a lot like mine. So now I'm pretty sure it's not epoxy, it's just a trick of the light or something. So the problem must be with something else.

Finder,
You can try cleaning the battery contact down inside the tube. you can scrape the contact pin with a paper clip or rub the pin with a qtip soaked in isopropyl and see if that helps.

It's probably a dirty contact pin and you won't void the warranty by cleaning it.
Let me know if this helps.

Howdy Monsterkenny, I tried cleaning the contacts but the one on top looks clean as can be, and once I figured out there wasn't any "epoxy" on the inside contact I tried cleaning it as well. First I used a q-tip with alcohol, and then on the inside contact I tried scraping it with a tiny flat-head screw driver and that didn't work either. I'll try again though just to make sure, because I really don't want to be without this device while it's getting surgery at ProVape. I'm not sure if it's solder or just the way the inside contact is made, but it doesn't look like just flat metal. If you look at P Busardo's inside contact in that video maybe you can see what I mean, and his works fine so I guess it's normal. I contacted ProVape and they e-mailed me back last night. They are being very very nice about everything and are paying for me to ship it back to them (which sucks because while it's working it vapes freaking PERFECT), so I'm going to be back on the Silver Bullet for a while I guess. Right now I'm just waiting for the shipping label to be sent, as the attachment was missing from their original e-mail.

I got mine last week. I didn't get the blue light but everything is the same. I had read that you had to send a copy of the original receipt in with it. So I was wondering how I would do that if I didn't receive one.

We email a copy of the invoice for every order that is made. The order number is what is needed so we can look up the order and return shipping addres etc.

Maybe I Missed it.

But did anyone ask the OP What Type of Batteries he is using?

I'm using the AW IMR 18490s that came with the ProVari. Tried cleaning the battery contacts every way I could think of, multiple times and nothing helped. I just dropped it off at the post office so should be back at ProVape in a couple days. BTW ProVape did pay for they shipping, they are being very professional about everything. I hope it comes back soon...

Well with all you tried and since you're using Good, New Batteries it just sounds like it was a Bad Unit.

I'm sure you will get it a Replacement soon. Provape has Great service.
