Yeah, I started with a 510 initially. Mainly because that is the only model that is sold locally and, when I decided to try an e-cig, I wanted it "today!" After about 2 days I bought two more batteries because I found that I had to keep them cycling on the charger constantly. I dropped the analogs on the day I got the 510 so I didn't want to end up with all batteries flat-lined at the same time. BTW, I had to drive 50 miles to get the 510's so I was concerned that, if I ran out of batteries, I'd give up the battle and go back to analogs.)

I did just about the same thing. I paid 55.00 for a "starter kit" at a local smoke shop because i as well wanted it today and the battery wouldn't last a whole day at work so i had to buy back up analogs, then blew the atty 3 days later but instead of buying more batts i just ordered an ego kit for 66.00 which came with 2 batts and attys and have never looked back.

I just spent the better part of the day looking for a pink 510 because my niece said she'd consider vaping if it was pink. If it works and it gets her to quit analogs and vape, who am I to say? Whatever floats your boat. But for people that are on a budget, like I said, I'd go with the ego. I haven't heard of too many people that are unhappy with them. I'm sure there are some out there, but most people seem pretty happy and they aren't expensive.

V4L has a pink KR8 with a bejeweled tip but I heard its peptobismol pink :p :)

My mom has a bejeweled pink KR808 from V4L and a purple..and couple other colors too. My niece liked my 510 (actually my sister talked her into it because it's a little cheaper and think's she'll lose it anyway) so I was looking for the pink 510.
Way more than you wanted to know, I'm sure!

These are my personal opinions, there are obviously many who prefer the smaller PV models for good reasons. But for those who want to start off with something they will be mostly satisfied with for a longer period of time, the Ego is the way to go IMHO. :2cool:

I wish i get a dollar each time i read about how people suggesting eGo for start off, i would be rich by now. :p
But I'm agree, eGo rocks.

My friends have had all sorts of PVs and I've tried them all. I finally bought my own after trying my buddies eGo T. It was honestly the reason I switched from analog. I feel it is a great PV to start out with, even though its bulkiness can be annoying once in a while. Great battery life to get me through long days at work.

Here's a "bubble gum pink" 510 kit. Joye eGo | Joye 510 | Tulsa Electronic Cigarette batteries, atomizers, cartomizers, e-Liquid, accessories and more! Scroll down a tiny bit.

Count me in for the eGo Mega also. It took me several days to learn it's preferred preferences. Took me longer with my bride of 42 years.

eGo + LR 510 atty = amazingness.

nuff said

Yes yes yes. LR atty on the ego is beast. Effortless drags with tons of vapor.

Yeah I wrote my editorial fully understanding that I'm making suggestions that have been repeated ad nauseum. My hope was to reiterate the point to add to the learning curve and also "bump" the point in front of the newest members who may not have read the hundreds of other posts that suggest the same.

Agree 1000%!!!!!

I started with a 510 and used it for close to a year... it was great, but it couldnt quite keep me from smoking... I smoked for 4 months, then got a "fat battery" 510 (TW Tornado)... have since moved to a Mod and havent looked back!

I always recommend that new people start with a "fat battery" 510 like the Ego/Riva/Inferno/Tornado... better vaping experience and will keep a new vaper happier for longer... great thread!

At the risk of repeating what has already been said a lot I want to add my two cents. I have been using the Ego for a couple of weeks now and really wish I had started with it. I use the ego with the cartomizer re I cannot get along with the atomizers and even tried the ego tank system, never got anything I liked with those, but the ego with cartomizer is doing the trick. onward

I won't go without my eGo! I'm sure that once the up and coming technology is proven and endorsed by the majority of users, I'll purchase a VV bottomfeeder. But for now, I'm a very happy camper with my LR Mega setup (both carts and tanks). I kinda reversed the normal progression in that I started with the Mega and then bought some 510Ts for my acquaintances to try.

BTW, I'm very impressed with the 510T system. I use one for testing new flavs.
