Easiest way to start? Buying my wizardlabs nicotine at the same mg as what I vape?

I exclusively vape a Vanilla 50pg/50vg at 18mg. The supplier is always running out of the 30ml's so I'd like to start mixing my own.

I see Wizardlabs sells 18mg 50/50 nicotine so would it be easiest to just buy a jug of that and my flavor from capellaflavordrops and just add the flavor to the nicotine to make my 30ml bottles? I put it in the ejuicemeup calculator and it says all I'll have to do is add 25.5ml of the nic to 4.5ml of flavor (15% flavor) to make a 30ml bottle.

Any downside to doing it this way?

Well, if you buy 18mg base, you won't be able to retain an 18mg product after adding flavoring. Anything added to the base will dilute the ingredients within.

For example: If you had 18mg 50/50, and added 15% of PG based flavoring, for a 30ml bottle, it would indeed be 25.5 (base) and 4.5 (flavoring), however, the end result would be a higher overall PG, and a lower nic-strength. With an 18mg base, and 15% flavoring, you would yield an end result of 15mg, lower than your desired outcome.

The easiest way, I think, to go about this would be to purchase 36mg (or higher, unless you're concerned for safety) of just straight pg, or vg, then add additional pg/vg/flavoring to reach your desired end result.

Remember, whenever you add anything into the bottle, it will dilute and change the ratio of previous mixture/base.

You could do that, or order 36 and mix with 50/50 PG/VG, might be a little cheaper that way. But if you are looking for straight easiest then what you mentioned sounds like it would be the easiest, you will loose a little bit of the nic content in the mix process though.

I vape and DIY 18mg 50/50, so I'll chime in.

I choose to go with 36mg VG and 0mg PG. Making 10ml of juice with 20% flavoring (common for a few of my mixes) means 5ml of the 36ml VG, 3ml of 0mg PG and 2ml of flavoring.

I decided to go with VG nic instead of PG nic because if I ever want to start reducing the nicotine level of my juice, I would probably want to add more PG. This allows me to do that.

As long as you don't mind not getting the same taste, or exact nicotine level, nope.

(Duplicating a vendor's juice is one of the most needlessly frustrating things I observe here.)

The supplier told me the exact capella flavor they use and they mix it 50pg/50vg so I'm hoping I can get it pretty close.

I think I'm mixing everything too strongly, the pre-made Vanilla I buy from the website tastes perfect around 4.0 volts on my VTube. With MY mix I have to take the voltage down to 3.0 or it's too harsh, I'm talking even at 3.0 volts I still have a sore throat. I've never had a sore throat from vaping in the year I've been doing it.

Here's my set up:
50/50 36mg Nicotine
PG from Capellas
VG from Cappelas
Capella's French Vanilla

Target = 50/50 18mg Vanilla juice

The 30ml batch I made:
15ml of 50/50 Nicotine
1.5ml of PG
7.5ml of VG
20% Vanilla flavoring = 6ml

It's gotta be the 20% flavoring right? I'm vaping on a vtube at 3.0 volts and STILL the throat hit is too harsh. And sometimes I'll vape it and it's like the vape goes right down my throat? Hard to explain, it's like I inhale but it slides down my throat and I'm not able to exhale it lol, make sense? I think I need to cut down to like 5-10% flavor.

Well, it's easier to start low on flavoring and slowly add as you test taste it.

And you can be positive it is the flavoring by making the same mix without any flavoring and test vaping it. Then go back to sentence 1 and repeat until it is just so. (Most Capella's seem to be in the 12-18% range for me, but starting lower than someone's suggestion is always recommended.)
