What I do is this:
If I can explain. I take my syringe blunt tip needle and stick it through the bottom air hole of the tank and slowly twist. It works every time.

That's what I always do. Works perfectly. Except when it doesn't, which is rare. Then I put the back of my car up on jacks, have the neighbor kid get in and gun it. When the wheels have a good spin going, I press the atty against the tire and it will spin the atty right off - sometimes at high velocity and you have to make sure you catch it or it will ping pong around the wheel well until it shoots out. I that that happen to me once. When I woke up, I couldn't find it and had a huge headache. I searched all over while the neighbor kid laughed and laughed. It was lodged in the metal plate in my forehead. Luckily I was in the garage and the chisel was right there so it was easy to pry out. I had to wear a hat for few weeks (so I didn't look like an idiot with a dent in his forehead) until the doc could give me a new plate. Also, make sure you are on the right side of the car. If you are on the wrong side of the car, then it will tighten it down so hard you'll never get it off
