Easy & Cheap Refill Tool

Thought I should share this... This thing takes off the white cap and removes the silicone O ring very easily without having to worry about screwing something up along the process.. Effortless, Cheap and Compact for carrying with you..

Its called a Seam Ripper and can by purchased in any Michaels, Joanne or fabric store for $1.50 .. You insert the longer end and lightly push the cap upwards. It usually pops out the whole thing in one try, but to be safe just gently push on 2 sides.. Then you can use it to remove the silicone by pulling it out.

yeah those work just as good, but this one when closed in the plastic handle / holder fits in the palm of your hand and easily in the "5th pocket" so when topping off without using the Rubber Mod, it comes in handy when away from home..

I know what you mean, I use one of the handles from one side of a large binder clip. I have a seam ripper and a crochet hooks as suggested by others but it just so easy to keep using my 'bent wire.'

I've been eyeing one of the smaller binder clips... I USE my large ones.

I find the smaller binder clips difficult to manipulate and I'm pretty dexterous.

You made me get my tape measure out. My large binder clip, sans handles, is 1 and 1/4 inches long. The one I had trouble using was a 1/2 inch long. I think that the 3/4 inch ones are fine though (at least for me).

Just got home and looked at the box.

Yup! My binder clips are 3/4" and they work perfectly. If I want to, I can reach a bit deeper inside and pull the cap & o-ring at the same time.

I use a large size paperclip straightened out. Bent a small open hook on one end with long nosed pliers. I use the hook end for the white cap and the straight end to get the o-ring out. Works great.

I use a nutpicker to take the white cap and silicone ring off simultaneously.

I lay the nutpicker down with the cap and ring still on it, refill, then simply put the cap and s/ring back on simultaneously.

No discernable damage to the cap. Quick and easy!
