There is always a ton of vape stuff on eBay. They don't actually read the listings. Just key word searches and reported items by users. They don't allow nicotine or e-cigarette. But if called Vape Pen, etc in ad and ad says contains no nicotine or not usable for nicotine, then it usually gets past them.

They also allow some pre-approved sellers to sell vape equipment. So it isn't completely banned.

Allowed in some situations

Selling e-cigarettes on eBay

Generally, e-cigarettes may not be sold on eBay. However, we do allow certain pre-approved sellers to list e-cigarettes, Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS), and e-liquids on the US eBay website (eBay.com) provided they follow federal, state, local, and other applicable laws and regulations. This policy is applicable to those approved sellers, and buyers who transact with them.

Approved e-cigarette sellers

Pre-approved sellers must comply with the following requirements:

  • Listings must be in the following category: Health & Beauty > Electronic Cigarettes
  • Listings must include a link to our tobacco and smoking accessories policy page:
    Tobacco and smoking accessories policy
  • Use a shipping service that will verify, upon delivery, that the buyer or recipient is at least 21 years old
  • Include the following disclaimer within the listing description:
"I will not sell e-cigarettes and related products to persons that are under 21 years old"
  • Include the FDA required health warning statements on the packaging and within the listing description
  • Offer delivery and sales within the US only
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local laws regarding the sale and delivery of these products

I rolled the dice and bought a high end RTA on Ebay for very cheap, and it turned out to be authentic. Worst case scenario it's a clone for slightly more money than usual, but even a clone at that point was near impossible to find. Pretty much a win win situation. It's a gamble on Ebay in my opinion.
I can't remember exactly how it was listed, a fellow vaper and godsend from ECF directed me to the RTA.

Something else I've noticed from the feedback. A lot of the customers clearly don't know much about vaping and just buy what they see and like the look of. They trust the vendor and get ripped off. Check out Amazon reviews for the same. Shame really.

Feedback, I was checking out a seller that had the Purge Slam Piece for 30.00, seller had a few negative feedbacks, most about item being a fake...

Lol, buyer getting a 300.00 mod for 30.00 and thinks it will be genuine.

I used to buy all kinds of second hand stuff at eBay until the time I bought motor parts from Detroit and catered a SuperBowl party in DeMoines (which I did niether). Closed my accounts and stopped even going there for anything. I presumed it was a hack via eBay somehow.

My new account was hacked at a local WalMart while I was at home watching a movie so I decided it wasn't necessarily eBay last time, but I still don't go there.

Being an educated consumer I started noticing fake so-called second hand items being sold as genuine too. Example was a supposed 1950's flashlight from grandpas attic that were only made in the US back then but in the sellers photos you could clearly see made in China stamped on the tailcap. Seller even stated US made in the listing.
 Doh!

But at Amazon these days the fakes run amuck. Unless you know the seller is the real deal good luck there too. And ratings doesn't always tell the story. I've bought stuff from known good sellers who ended up with complaints from nit-pickers and jerks looking to end up getting it for free and got po'd the seller said "uh, no"……

Oh but you get to look forward to getting"brushed" with Amazon..its no big deal...you randomly get stuff you never ordered so the seller has some smuck leave positive reviews. You are charged nothing and will waste your time trying to get Amazon to stop them. You will get flashlight..sex toys..kitchen gadgets..hair extensions...the list goes on and on ;/
