A yearbook of recent research and analysis

Carl V. Phillips and Paul L. Bergen, editors

A must read for anyone interested in smokeless alternatives!

THR2010 is an anthology of important writings about tobacco harm reduction, primarily from 2009 and early 2010. The period covered has seen important developments in both the scientific research and politics of THR, particularly the explosion of interest in electronic cigarettes and efforts by tobacco companies to promote low-risk alternatives to smoking. Anyone interested in tobacco use or harm reduction should find something of interest, from general overviews to political analyses.

I'm sorry.
I took a look and within a few glimpses I had to look away again lest I lose the contents of my stomach all over my keyboard.
I've seen this stuff before. I live in Los Angeles. This stuff is ubiquitous here. It's all about Ego and Money.
Talented, intelligent professionals whoring themselves, saying any damn thing in order to make a mark and get noticed.
They serve no public good. Their published material exists for it's own sake within a system that is able to market it to aluminum cap wearing alarmists with $ to spend and they are legion. I know. Scary but true.
Every historical generation gets a name. (Greatest Generation, Love Generation, Me Generation) We are now in the Lemming Sucker Generation.

I hope you aren't referring to the ebook I posted!! If so, you need to read more - these authors are AGAINST the antis and FOR reduced harm - including ecigs!

This book reports on the anti activities and debunks their claims. It's good ammunition when fighting the ALA, AHA, FDA, states, etc.

This book contains sound arguments FOR ecigs and other smokeless tobacco products, based on science and fact. It also gives insight into the minds of the antis and why they are so damned stubborn.

I highly recommend anyone who is doing any advocacy, activism or writing legislators and commenting on articles read this and educate themselves!

Sorry, Kristin.
I don't remember what I read or what I think I saw. It was late, I was probably drunk and felt like ranting. I was angry about something.
Oh well. It's a matter of record now.
Lesson learned. I've been putting my foot in it a lot lately.
It's ok - I just didn't want people to get the idea from your post that this was an anti-ecig book.

since the sony e-book is with me all the time, i`ll just say take a read of some of this...he he
they did a good job on this, facts and conclusions are stated very clear, and there is a clear division of subjectivty on what Pseudo-Facts are threated by who wont accept this book...and if the disclosure of truth would ever stop the monsters against us, this is a great first step.

The Kindle file is a AZW.

Yeahy, I had a jolly ole time trying to get it to work on Kindle. The high res PDF version is protected from conversion and on the low res PDF the text is too tiny to read and you can't resize the font.

But I was finally able to convert it to the Kindle file using the low res PDF and the Amazon convertor. So I do have the AZW file if anyone wants it. It doesn't convert 100% exact (some tables look a little funky) but it's still very readable and you can increase the font size. It also messes up the page numbers, so you can't search by chapters. But if you search "Chapter 7" it'll take you to that page. It's definitely a work-around.

I'll see if I can convert the AZW file to a txt or doc file.

I just received an email from Paul Bergen the editor (we've been emailing back and forth for some time now), and he noticed this thread but can't post in this forum yet because he doesn't have enough posts.

He wanted me to ask if the book is user friendly enough and if not what would make it that way?

I think if you all have any ideas on how to make it easier to download and read maybe he can fix it for you :). He seems to be keeping up with this thread, so I'm sure he'll see if you post an idea.

Personally, I was able to download and read it quite easily, but I have a new version of Acrobat so maybe that's why. Anyhow, just passing the message along :).

yeah, have not had a kindle to play with....2 different sonys, one ebookwise and 1 rocket e-book. rtf works on all of them, txt works on all, and html works on rocket ebook and on sony it will convert while transfering so its not html on sony, sonys new .pub files seem to be what even public librarys use now...
i got a 804kb txt file if anyone wants...
