We've probably hit critical mass. Enough people are doing it, successful with it and are talking about it where it's taking on like wildfire. I know for me, I'd "heard" about it years ago, but it wasn't until fairly recently that I started hearing, "It works." That's what got me to look deeper into it. I think the technology is definitely there these days and that's helping everything along.

Glad to be part of it.

I always wonder how many people are disappointed by these and consequently write off vaping altogether. I really hope that as the industry grows, makers of quality devices will have room in their budget for widespread advertising.
My husband bought me a few of those while waiting for my kits to arrive; he was very eager to get me off of analog. If those kits hadn't come, I wouldn't have switched. The price just floored me - $12 for 1 disposable! Who uses those? How do they sell so many?

After struggling with V2 and Green Smokes - I liked the taste but it wasn't satisfying me - I went to the internet. It took a while to learn how to use them right and know that cig-look-a-likes weren't the way for me. 3 or so weeks trying to find the right tobacco flavored and then found chocolate mint and things have just evolved.

It wasn't a resolution or anything with me. In mid December I saw some coworkers in the California office campus vaping and talked to them. In fact, no one in the California campus was actually smoking in the smoking area but me and my Oregon coworker. It got the idea in my mind that this might be viable to get me to stop barracking myself in my home office while I was smoking. Kitty has asthma. Don't want everyone subjected to second hand smoke. Both of us have begun vaping. I am completely off cigarrettes - it took about 2 weeks. She is partially.

So for me, the date being the new year is just a coincidence. Joining the board was my growing interest in vaping - I become obsessed with everything. And my growing awareness of the legal issues and my fear that this wonderful thing I found that got me to stop smoking after nothing else had, after 36 years of smoking, this wonderful thing was in jeopardy.

I know that these laws follow a tipping point. Gay marriage, ......... legalization (edit-I guess you can't use that word - that made me laugh - I was mentioning the new Colorado and Washington state laws), original smoking bans. They start in local areas, get more and more support, more areas put laws into effect, then it is just a matter of time before the entire country/world goes that way. It is harder to push it back the other direction once it hits that point and easier to stop it before it goes too far. We have a lot of money against us. At least 3 major areas of interest pushing for their solution. But we have truth on our side. I am backing that with $$$, letters, and soon time. This is my life. How dare someone sell it for their own gain or ill-informed prejudice.

I've seen the users online jump from a normal 200-300 a week ago to almost 600 earlier today. Maybe it's because of the new forum servers and software upgrade counting them differently or something.

Regardless why, it's a good thing. Even at 3am local time I can come here and see people having issues getting help in just a few minutes.

ECF is really a superb resource. It's the first place I look for reviews, answers to issues, information on trends and legislation news. I've made some friends here too... :toast:

You know what would be great? If every last new member and lurker joined CASAA. Takes moments and can do nothing but good for vapers everywhere.
And done.

I've been lurking since I started vaping in October though. Didn't join the forum until a week or so ago.

I got really sick before Christmas and used it as a kick start to finally quitting. I don't do the resolution thing. It was more coincidence than anything. I made it about a week without smoking at all. Just quit. Then used a CIG a like to get thru new years. And decided to try and find something more useful long term. Boom. Here.
