ECF Management,

I just read an excellent post by Bill Godshall providing information on how to write to our elected representatives in defense of using personal vaporizers. What can ECF as a forum do to highlight and encourage ECF members to take action in their own self interest? Here is the thread, post #10:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...at-senators-urge-fda-ban-flavored-cigars.html

At least, can we make this post a "sticky"? Can ECF begin to encourage our members to take action? Can we start a drive to get members to join CASAA?

Thank you

When CASAA generate a Call To Action we will back it.

Otherwise, there is a risk of expending our efforts on projects that have very little impact, such as the recent petition to the White House, which was in effect flushed down the toilet. Individuals need to realize that centrally-coordinated action produces the best results, and CASAA are in the right place to do this. I also get the feeling that people are tired of petitions and letters and general calls to arms right now, as there are so many of them. There is a considerable risk of alienating everyone except the core activists.

Ask CASAA what their plans are - and take their advice. It looks as if we need to focus on getting stronger Republican backing because the Democrats are clearly either neutral or against us. If you can come up with a plan to advance that aim, and get CASAA backing for it, then it could be a good way to go forward.

I see your point on making too many "alerts" or scatter shot action requests. I am not in a good position to judge what the biggest threats are, but I do trust members like Bill Godshall on advising us on how to communicate with our representatives and would like to see ECF make his comments a "sticky" for those who want to write a letter to their representatives but are not sure how to do it effectively.

I obviously do not know how CASAA and ECF interface on issues that need us all to pay attention to and take action on. I am concerned that it apprears that very few ECF members join and support CASAA. I would like for them to somehow have a "higher profile" on ECF where more members are encouraged to join and support them as they are the only group that I am aware of that are fighting on our behalf.
