Medical questions also add to that layer. If you FEEL better after switching, doesn't that put a wrench in the ANTZ way of thinking?
So if, as a random example, switching to ecigs didn't make my Type 1 Diabetes better, that makes our results look bad?
If you are correct, the survey as written is indeed conflating unrelated issues, which was exactly my concern.
Perhaps it would have been a good idea then to include a question asking if the user has [list of most common pertinent conditions such as ADHD, COPD, etc.] and if the user answered Yes, insert the health questions.
Or it could mean that ecigs had no correlation to how it affected your Type 1 Diabetes. How would that make the results bad? It would just prove out that it had no affect on that particular medical ailment.
Will you guys be filing a 1099 for the cash prizes?![]()
I am the only one who loved answering all of those questions just because? Even without the thought of it being a drawing it is still awesome to be able to have such specific questions to answer.
True, however if my Type 1 Diabetes has worsened along exactly the same standard progression as the average non-ecig user, in fact exactly as my doctor had explained it would earlier, that would also make the results bad - I used ecigs and now my health is worse! Perhaps I wouldn't want to deliberately add a misleading impression to the survey statistics.
I'm not trying to pick for the sake of picking, this issue has been discussed on the board almost since inception - that one might be cautious and mindful without jumping to the conclusion that every single thing that happens after someone uses an ecig is ecig-related... or vice-versa, use wishful thinking to ignore that it probably is.
"Well designed" referred to the structure and the options given. There are always more things to ask but, if a survey is too long people get bored and quit.
A mantra is "never underestimate the power of people to misunderstand the question." Other than not knowing whether batteries should be devices or accessories, I didn't see that.
There were places for negative opinions (e.g. leakage, durability, etc.) Not a lot of them because this wasn't a random survey. The people who respond all come to ECF. Therefore we are all vapers so there is something we like about electronic cigarettes. In a random survey, if most of the questions are "why is it great?" your results are vulnerable to the opposition because they can say you were leading the respondents.
Like I said, well designed. Bravo (or brava, as the case may be.)
Does anyone know when the "results" of the survey will be in? Will we be able to see? Not talking about the contest part of the survey.
It will be some time before SJ gets someone to analyze the results, but I am sure he will make an announcement when the results are ready.
