First of all I just got into vaping a week ago with the “Free Trials” for $4.95 S&H, and the same night I ordered a Blu kit for $69.95 what a waste of $. If I could have found this site a night sooner, anyway thanks for being here. I have a few questions about these brands if anyone could help me. The Trio is a three piece with a battery, atty, and a cartridge and the Blu is two piece cartomizer and battery.

  1. The polarity is different on the chargers or batteries, positive (+) center and negative (–) outer for Trio, visa versa for the Blu’s. What are the common polarities of the 510, 808, 901, etc., and the world of mod vaping?

  1. The threads are the same but the polarity is different so they aren’t interchangeable, what would these carto and atty threads be considered, 510, 808, 901 etc.?

  1. The Trio battery is longer at approx. 65mm X 10mm and Blu is 52mm X 9mm, what size are these batteries are these considered? This is not really a concern because they both suck big time but just to pick you guy’s brains.

Thanks for your help in advance and just to let you know I have ordered $143.00 worth of stuff including an E Power kit with a serious supporting cast of items. I will put these analogs down. Thanks again, peace.

WELCOME TO THE ECF

and sorry about your bad experience. I did the exact same mistake of ordering the crappy smoke51 TRIO kit. Hopefully some people will answer some of those questions for you. I will answer some of them though.

The threads on the smoke51 TRIO is a 510 and therefore, you can use any 510 carto or atty on them. I sometimes use the battery with a boge LR 2.0 carto attached when I wanna stealth vape. The battery for the Trio is a 65mm as you have already said and that would be the size of them.

Honestly, the battery isn't all that bad but everything else on the other hand....

Glad you found ECF- welcome!
I'll do my best with your questions- and i suspect others will have more to add

  1. The polarity is different on the chargers or batteries, positive (+) center and negative (–) outer for Trio, visa versa for the Blu’s. What are the common polarities of the 510, 808, 901, etc., and the world of mod vaping?

the most common polarity is positive to center post and negative to outer ring. The reversed polarity is much less common.

  1. The threads are the same but the polarity is different so they aren’t interchangeable, what would these carto and atty threads be considered, 510, 808, 901 etc.?

They're named by thread type- so a 510 with reversed polarity is still called a 510...but is not (as luckily you already know) not interchangeable with the 510 with the positive to center post polarity

  1. The Trio battery is longer at approx. 65mm X 10mm and Blu is 52mm X 9mm, what size are these batteries are these considered? This is not really a concern because they both suck big time but just to pick you guy’s brains.

different vedors call them different things...go by the length and the milliamp hours (mAh) the higher the mAh, the longer the battery will last wittout recharging and the more charge cycles it will go through before dying. Larger batteries tend to be higher in mAh.

Glad you've ordered a better rated kit. Hope that you can still return the blus (though there are some who use them successfully)

The other item to look at is the voltage- many 510- threaded e-cigs are 3.2 V, and some of the 808 threaded are 3.7 volts. there are higher voltage and variable voltage versions as well. I'm not sure whether the E power is 3.2 or 3.7 V.

Good luck and happy vaping

An E-Power is straight 3.7V, it uses a 14650 or 18650 battery, which is cheaper to replace when needed, I have one and it's great. With the free trial you may need to cancel you credit or debit card to stop the charges from popping up on it, there nasty read this thread about them: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/65772-do-not-order-free-trials.html
Other wise send back what you can and keep the E-Power and you won't be disappointed.

Thanks guys I have a better understanding on the whole situation now. I will admit it I got took by the “free trial” yesterday. I hope the FBI do not show up at my do soon, I finally got them on the phone and said some things I probably should not have said. If I lived in Miami I would probably be in jail because I have an address of one of here facilities. As for the Blu’s they suck too, I sit there and try to get a TH till the battery starts blinking due to dying or telling me to slow down. I don’t like people and especial a cigarette to tell me to slow down and take a break. I am all good and over it I have a Epower on the way from gotvapes and if the FBI does not come I will be even better. I will say it, I am on edge and if I could get my hands on that little m%^^^#^#^#%^#er on the phone from the free trial thing I would ……….

Peace out.

If they made it easy to cancel then they wouldn't make any money :p

Only use them in their own chargers and PCCs. I know the Blu is reverse polarity from 510 but has the same threads. A Blu charger will fry a 510 and vice versa. But atomizers and cartomizers don't care about polarity.

The Blu can use 510 standard resistance (usually around 3 ohm) atomizers and cartomizers like Boge cartomizers. But a Blu is not a 510. Blu only has 100mah batteries. The small 510 battery is 180mah and the mega xl 510 battery is 280mah.

No idea on the Trio. If it is a female battery and does not fit 510 cartos, then it may have RN4081 threading or it may have the mystery female rebrander threading people can never match.

They are not clones. They are models used by rebranders. I know Blu is supposedly L88b which is not a model you can expect to find sold or supported elsewhere.

Just to clarify this, polarity only matters when it comes to charging. Atomizers and cartomizers don't really care about the polarity of the battery since they're literally just a loop of wire that heats up. Current direction through the wire makes no difference. Thus you can use a 510 atty on a 510 battery or a Blu battery despite the polarity differences, but you can't charge a Blu battery on a 510 charger/PCC or a 510 battery on a Blu charger/PCC.
