Sorry if this has been posted or discussed before elsewhere, but I've been thinking about the controversy surrounding vaping and thought the following : perhaps it would clear up some confusion to refer to them as PVs, not ecigarettes. My reasoning is that the use and/or inclusion of the term "cigarette" brings with it all the negative connotations of analog tobacco smoking, the attendant health risks to both the user and bystanders, and so forth. This is surely part of why vapers often have to go out of our way to either avoid stigmatization or be brave, knowledgeable, and courteous enough to explain to folks what exactly it is that's being done. On the other hand, though, perhaps the use of the cigarette term is what attracts many smokers to consider vaping as a better alternative.
