EDIT: After reading Kent's answer (which follows mine), I took a second look at your question ... and realize that my answer here wanders off your topic. I'll leave it here as background information for your further consideration, but focus on Kent's answer.

Like any e-cig, the "510" is both an atomizer and a battery. The 510 atomizer is unquestionably the most popular of all attys. The 180 mAh 510 battery seems to be following the 901 on "the way of the dodo." "Titan" is simply TW's brandname for the Joye 510. "Tornado" is their name for the eGO (which uses the 510 atty).

Since you are used to the 900 mAh Screwdriver, I do not recommend the 510 battery. Rather check out the 650 mAh eGO/Tornado or other 510-based "Fat Batts": 750 mAh Riva, 900 mAh Mega eGO battery, 1000 mAh Mega Tornado battery, 1300 mAh Hello 016. These are all described (with supplier links) on this page of my updated WWV Guide and on this page of ViZi's master guide to mods.

The term "Mega" (or "XL") also is used as a label for the longer 280 mAh 510 batteries, larger 510 attys & carts, and for the new large capacity atomizers and cartomizers available for the eGO/Tornado and Riva. Personally, I think the Mega eGO cartomizer or Mega eGO atomizer on the Mega eGO battery (shown in photo at center and bottom, respectively) are pretty neat-looking devices. [The standard eGO with 510 atty and eGO cone is at top of photo.]

These are the new e-cigars (my designation, not official).

Low-resistance (LR) is a topic unto itself. I took a stab at it toward the bottom of this page of my WWV guide.

I use an SD mini fitting and the 901 seems to be going the way of the dodo, so I'm going to get a 501 adapter and start using 501 attys and carts. Problem is, there's so many different types. TW has regular, mega, titan, tornado and low-resistance. Can someone explain what this all means and what the differences are?

TIA.

On the TW stuff - the regular 510 atty is 2.1-2.3Ω.

The mega (the one that is the same diameter as a regular 510 battery) is also the same ohms but it's longer and holds 1.5ml ejuice in the matching cartridge (regular 510 cart is @.8ml).

The titan is the 'regular' atty.

The tornado/eGo has two different types of attys but only one at TW right now - the 'mega eGo atty' (cylinder type). Again, 2.1Ω and it has a matching cartridge that is 2.5ml capacity - good for around 4 hours without refill. And there's the 'cone/atty' (sold elsewhere - cignot has them), 2.1Ω and again a matching cartridge that holds 1.5ml (2.5 hours worth - ymmv).

[note that with the 'mega', the cylinder type and cone/atty type they all need the corresponding cartridges. With the regular and the LR you can use your 901 carts on the 510. I think they fit better than the regular 510 cart. ]

The LR is a 1.5Ω atty that is good for the Tornado/eGo batts that run at around 3.2-3.4Volts but would be too hot for the true 3.7v SD.

The mega eGo and cone/attys would not fit the SD without some modification. They have a 'skirt' that extends past the batt connection (so they screw into the 'cone' threads on the Tornado) and that would have to be cut off or some extension used to be used with the SD. In fact, having the 901 to 510 adapter might work but I haven't tried that, not having an SD myself.

There are also some cartomizers available for the 510 - the 'joye' carto which TW sells as titan/tornado cartos:
510 TITAN/TORNADO PRE-FILLED CARTOMIZERS-Tobacco and Menthol

... which would work on the SD with an adapter:
Adapter for connecting a DSE901 or KR808D-1 battery with a Joye510 atomizer

And there are several other 510 cartomizers available elsewhere with a variety of different ohm ratings. Again, with the SD at 3.7volts - you want to stay above 2.0Ω (or greater if you're vaping lighter flavors).

And you could just get a Tornado battery to try - you would need the usb quick charger and also a cone if you use the LR or regular atty. But no cone is needed if you go to the cylinder or cone/atty set up.
