I went for a preop H&P for upcoming surgery and was seen by an Internal Medicine physician. I was instructed by my surgeon to quit smoking asap, which i did. the IM doc asked how i did it. i proceeded to share with her, and happened to have the eGo in my purse, and gave her an "inservice" and a demonstration. and of course, being a medical professional myself, explained things in "medico" speak. i said to her that this is truly a godsend, that physicians really should look at this as an option for those stubborn COPD'ers (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) patients, asthmatics, and patients with emphysema, or coronary artery disease etc, who just simply cannot let go of the analogs with other nicotine replacement therapies e.g. transdermal patch, oral lozenges and gums, nicotine inhalers, and need to have that constant "hand to mouth" action. She was VERY intrigued and said she would be researching this fully. Also, being affiliated with a very large teaching and research hospital, i told her that it would be good "study" for this institution..............
i love educating my fellow medical peeps about ecigs! she had NEVER heard of this before and was very fascinated! oh and btw, my bilateral breath sounds were clear as a bell. no wheezing or anything, and my blood pressure was lower than my average (which is low to begin with). woohoo! so i think she was sold on em!
