I'm gonna be converting my mom to e-cigs next week when I go home for a family reunion. I'm planning on getting her an ego or something very similar as she needs something that is very simple.
Anyway I'm trying to figure out what the best tank/ clearo would be for her. I need something that won't shatter when she drops it and that is VERY easy to refill with minimal spillage. One of her medications makes her shake constantly to the point where she has trouble drinking out of a normal cup.
I've been researching and have found a couple B&M's relatively close so I'm planning on taking her to those so she can try flavors and look at equipment options but I figured I'ld post here and see if you guys and gals had any no fuss recommendations.
Thanks for any help.

Metal vivi nova, in case she drops it. Fairly easy to refil not expensive. Sounds like she may not be able to replace coils as they go, so get her a couple each should last 1 to several months. Perhaps u can drop by now and then to see if u can aid with cleaning etc. make sure she drinks plenty of water and has backups.

Also the charger on the ego is easy to use so your good there I hope. GL. Wishing u da best.

How easy is the Vivi Nova to fill? All I've got for myself is an ego with CE5's and I think she will have problems filling those. She's about a 12 hour drive so I need to get her as well set up as I can while I'm there. My sister lives with her and will be able to help a little bit with changing coils and cleaning but she has her own medical issues to deal with including skin allergies to alot of flavorings/perfumes so I'm trying to minimize the amount that Sarah will need to help.

I've been discussing it with her since I switched about a month ago. She has also talked to her doctor about it so he knows and can make adjustments to her meds as needed. I'm hoping the B&M closest will be a good one so she will be able to go there and get help when she needs it. And I've made sure she is aware that this isn't a cessation product like the gum or patches it's just an alternative that is slightly healthier. Honestly I'll be happy if she uses the e-cig to just cut her smoking in half.
Oh and I made her bookmark ECF. :)

Why not go the easy route and get her one that has disposable carts? No mess, no fuss, no refilling unless she wants to. And you can order replacement carts to be delivered to her. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't need any help changing those out. I love my V2 and they even sell lanyards. She could wear it around her neck and never have to worry about a drop. They're pretty durable though.

If she has trouble drinking out of a regular cup because her hands shake, she doesn't need to be handling needles. The safest bets would be cartos, carto-tanks, or just having someone refill for her so she doesn't have to do it, especially cartomizers.

Plain cartomizers are very simple to fill using the condom method. And, that would let her be independent. She's more likely to stick with it that way (not having to feel like a burden or dependent). 2.0 ohm cartos on eGo batteries are a good, simple combination.

first: good for you for helping out your Mom!

second: only you can say how easy a time she'll have filling the various setups. EGO-C's are fairly easy to fill, as are the Vivi Nova's. If her shaking is particularly heavy, most of the setups may prove difficult unless she can pre-fill several cartos or tanks at a point during the day where the shaking is less intense.

My two cents,

Mike

The prefilled cartos are an option but I'm trying to keep costs low. She is on a very limited income so if I can show her that it works as well as analogs and is cheaper she will be more likely to continue. For the condom method do you just put the juice in the condom and push the carto in to fill? Or is there more to it?

If you decide to go the carto route these are the cheapest empty cartos I have found out there - Multi-Pack Deals

Kota, you do have some challenges with this. You also have many good suggestions. I think it would be very important to bring your mom to a brick and mortar, and make her part of the process. She will have the best idea as to what she can and can`t do. Good luck to you and I hope it all works out well for you and your mom.

Great advice! If I hadn't gone to the local B & M and opted for a cigalike from the gas station I'd probably still be smoking.
