Efest batteries are cost effective, and are appealing because of that. Unfortunately, when dealing with high-discharge batteries such as size 18650 I'd rather spend more coin knowing I'm getting something new, and genuine, rather than something that may have come out of an old power drill in a landfill.
I'm sorry, but in which way are they cost effective? Pretty much everywhere I've seen them sold they're more expensive than better batteries by a risk manufacturers.

You almost had it..

Aspire are also rewraps.. bought a few a while back as the store only had those... a waste of money as not one was the same as the next one... some lasted "decently", others died within a few months or just wouldn't hold a decent charge.

Seriously... stick to brand names, get them from reputable dealer as there are fakes out there.

The difference in prices is very small anyways.
The Aspire ICR batteries don't seem to be rewraps of any existing batteries though. They, just like all 18350 and 18500 cells, are most likely manufactured on commision in battery factories in China. I'm unsure on the details, but the point is that they're not rewraped Sony, Samsung, or LG cells.

I get that and agree because I have also looked it up. That said, I have not had any issues with the efest that I have even down to .14ohms... Now this is not where I regularly vape which is typically .4 - .8. The service life is not more than a couple of hours of continuous vaping at .1 but I've had no issues. Also I typically don't vape at more than 50w because there is no need for me to do so. Since I started following Mooche's battery chart I've been buying LG's and have been happy but my efest's are still in rotation.
Be careful with the "I haven't had any issues" notion as a mark of everything being fine. Most batteries will handle draws fairly high above their actual rating, often, until they decide not to handle them. When pushed higher than their rating batteries will take damage, and finally they might fail, without prior warning.

Noted about Aspire not being re-wraps, I genuinely thought they were.

However, would you rather buy a cell made in a Samsung, LG or Sony factory or a battery made by the Yongdeli battery factory.

I'm not trying to be obtuse about it, but let's be honest have you heard of them before you knew about Phil's video?

Very, very true Ken but I have to point out that your statement holds true for every battery out there regardless of mfg or whether its a rewrap or not. I'm not disputing comments made here about the legitimacy of efest batteries or there lack of performance. Just stated that "the ones that I purchased" have not failed to perform, that's all... as with all my batteries to date, when they fail to maintain a 100% charge and the voltage falls below 4.0, its time to rotate them out of use for vaping.

I only happen to see them on sites I purchase hardware from. When I go to a dedicated battery cell site, I don't really browse, I know what I'm looking for.

Looking at MyVaporStore (a site I often make purchases from), I could purchase a pack of 2 eFest 3000 mAh 20A cells, plus get a case for $15.90 USD. OR I could purchase 2 LG HG2 3000 mAh 20A cells for $17.98 USD. According to the description, they are the same thing. I'm just trying to look at this from the point of view of someone starting to get into serious vaping. Some sites have a drop-down menu that lists all the compatible cells with an advanced mod, just looking at the truncated description, it seems like one is just priced more than the other.

After looking at the sites I usually buy my cells from (Orbtronic, IMR) It looks like they do cost more than an LG, Samsung or even Sony cell. I was just going by what I saw online, and a few retail stores I go to. I apologize for my lack of research on the topic

No need to apologise, I was simply wondering as I've pretty much never seen them for cheaper than good batteries. It must be noted with Efests and other rewraps that Mooch's test findings are really only relevant did for trust particular batch. Rewrapers are known to change the battery under the wrapper whenever, depending on what batteries they come over for a good price. They're never really trustworthy.
