Howdy all!
I bought an Efest Xsmart charger when I bought my first Mech mod, my AR-15 clone, a couple years ago. when I first used it I noticed a USB 2.0 output slot (the bigger one that plugs into the computer or your wall/car charger.) since efest didnt include instructions, I thought maybe you could charge something else, or maybe daisy chain two or three chargers together or something, but when I plugged my phone in as I was charging my battery, nothing happened. I did the usual wiggle, pull out wipe off, check out, try again, but it did nothing. I figured maybe it either was defective or would only work with another of the same charger.
Well my Grandpa that we had lived with kinda lost his marbles, so our only option was the Days inn at that point. when we lived @ the hotel, I didnt have a charger, and was sick of not having a backup for my TC40w, so I bought another Efest Xsmart (over a year later and still no instruction manual. wth? but they did change the X's on the top from red to silver... not sure why I mentioned that) until I could go back to get my other charger. when I finally got my old back one I tried daisy chaining them, but with no result.
I decided not to worry about the function of the mysterious little usb port anymore, and just forget it. but when I unplugged the charger from the wall, when there was a battery in the first charger, I noticed the light was flashing... then I saw the light on the OTHER charger was ON! HOLY OHMS LAW VAP-MAN! THATS WHAT IT DOES!
you can use your IMR batteries that fit in the charger as the power source to charge whatever through your charger. how cool is that!? I now have a use for my old 18350's and 18500! I keep the two 350's and the 500 in my vapebag when I go anywhere, so I can charge my phone/mod/music player/camera/vibrating love ring anywhere im at! you obviously cant charge your Iphone from a single 700 mAh 18350 and expect to have enough battery to watch Titanic, but you can get enough use to get Directions home, make sure your bank account is kosher, call for help if your stranded, call a tow truck, etc... its a nice feature to have, I wish Efest had SOME sort of explanation included with there product... but its par for the course with them it seems. either inaccurate info or none at all lol Anyway I figured I couldnt be the only one that never got around to figuring that out, so I thought I'd post something to share my little discovery.
Oh, and if you happen to have the older version of the Xsmart with the RED X's, then you wont have any light indicator to tell you that its charging something. but the newer ones with SILVER X's will flash green on the LED when your charging through it.
