eGo 2.4ml CC CE4 Clearomizer- Thoughts and a flaw question

Posting here since I'm a new member (although a 6 month vaper).

As seen here and here. I'm loving these things on my kGo. The vapor and flavor are quite good, but the kicker for me has been the pull/drag. I tried the stardusts (v2 long wick), but the pull was very stuffy, like sucking a milkshake through a straw, but a piece of chocolate or strawberry is stuck in the straw. This is apparently a flaw with the kGo I've heard, and can maybe be fixed with an ego-to-ego thread adapter.

Anyhow, I grabbed a few of these from GoodProphets and love them. There is a single flaw I've found, and it's in the tip. The tip tends to crack very easily. I've now had 3 of 3 crack in a few days of use. I can't tell if it's from over-tightening, or from shoddy glue heating up and expanding. I was thinking about going to the store today to get some sort of glue to attempt a repair as I haven't found anywhere to actually purchase just the tips. Anyone have a suggestion on this? Or have a glue recommendation? I was thinking about Plastic-Fuse super glue, but I'm not sure how that will react with vaping (warm and liquid). Or maybe rubber cement. I'm a little worried about poisoning myself.

That just happened to me yesterday (as well as two guys from the ivape store where I bought it). I gave in and bought another one bc I really didn't want to go back to my regular ego tank system. From what I gather, its just cheap plastic and can be glued with some type of plastic to metal epoxy. Im going to pick up a small bottle this weekend and I will let you know. The guys there are really helpful and I think with a little heavy duty epoxy we will be back in business. Hopefully the company will address this (as this is the first run) bc these things are awesome.

I'm going to do the same actually. Going to pop by Home Depot at lunch and pick something up. These things really are awesome aside from this one flaw. The OP in the HealthCabin thread mentioned they just got new heads in that are supposed to be better, but an order from them takes too long to satisfy my needs at the moment. I'm only 3 months cig free after 21 years of smoking, and don't want to risk that.

I would exercise caution on using glues and epoxy's anywhere that juice, vapor or your mouth can come in contact. Remember, we're vaping to do something more healthy, not to introduce another health risk.

That's my concern too, going to try to find something non-toxic.

Edit: J-B Weld seems to be non-toxic, so that may be my go to epoxy. Their FAQ is pretty helpful (although ugly as sin). http://jbweld.net/faq.php#faq005 Looks like it's even Microwave safe...

My first two are still going strong, two months and probably 45 refills later. I haven't had to rebuild them. I do clean them after every second or third refill.


REPAIRING CRACKS:
Clean and dry clearo first.

Go to a crafts store, or buy online, a small bottle of Ambroid plastic solvent. This stuff is not glue; rather, it dissolves plastic so the cracks weld shut. There's no glue residue, since the Ambroid simply evaporates.
Only do this to dry and unfilled Stardusts!
Baste the cracks at the base using the brush affixed to the cap of the Ambroid bottle.
Let dry for a couple of hours. The Ambroid on the surface evaporates almost instantly, but the Ambroid deep in the cracks takes a while to percolate up to the surface. The weld dries clear.
Reassemble the Stardust, fill and vape away.


I've found that, once the cracks form, and the pressure on the push-fitted plastic is relieved, you'll only need to baste cracks a few times before new cracks stop forming. While many of my Stardusts have cracks, I haven't had to discard one after using this simple repair.

A: J-B Weld will not adhere to, or bond well to:

Any flexible rubber surface
Leather
Vinyl
Canvass
Polypropylene plastic
Polyethylene plastic

That's my concern too, going to try to find something non-toxic.

Any recommendations on something to put the metal piece and the plastic piece back together? I'm assuming the plastic tip is either Polypropylene or Polyethylene plastic. It was glued using something that came apart pretty easily too.

Yes it is Polypropylene or Polyethylene plastic. I'm using the Vision Stardust V2 but your clearo is supposedly rebuildable. The plastic usually just snaps back into the metal ring. Make sure you hear a click.

Totally correct after a little investigation. I'm guessing the adhesive that was there was "just in case".

Sometimes juices will filter down and harden. Aside from clearos...regarding some tanks with cartos it's even advised to "grease" the plastic/ rubber rings before putting carto in. Also, in regards to the video, BE VERY CAREFUL when pulling the clearo apart by attaching to the battery IF you ever decide to disassemble the clearo- some have pulled their batt end off. I plan on rebuilding my V2 in the next couple weeks and will use an adapter in a vise to wiggle/ take apart the clearo.

The "screw in drip tips" on the "Ego CC C4" do seem to have a cracking problem or did have, I've been trying to find if it's been fixed on the one's in stock at Ivape and Good Prophets, I don't know of any other sellers in the USA as I've just ran across these today.

I stand corrected. Had never heard of the cracking tips before. I just wish these vendors would stick with the original names. Very complicated and it's all their doing.

Was looking at this "upgrade" to my target ego t kit that i'm planning to buy.
Seems like i might need to think twice...

Frankly, is it really that fragile?
My plan is to have ease while vapering when i'm up and about without the need to refill till i'm home.

Hi, I really don't know how fragile they are but I'm guessing if not abused they will be fine, I just ordered 3 to try from ivape.net ($3.95 ea.)the cheapest I've found, they don't have the extra heads ($5.95) right now.
