Hi all, another newbie here.

I ordered an eGo and it arrived 2 days ago. I'm delighted with it and I haven't desired an analog since it arrived. What really surprises me is I'm not even making an effort as I'm enjoying the eGo so much. A few things are niggling me though.

As I essentially have 2 working eGo's I'm running both more or less simultaneously. When It arrived I put one battery on charge and started using the other. I used the quick USB charger with the mains adapter (UK) and when the battery was screwed into the charger the power LED on the battery flashed a few times and the charger light turned red and gives an intermittent green flash every 5 seconds. Things looked good but 6 hours later it still hadn't turned green so I removed it and tried charging the other battery and it also didn't indicate it was charged even after 6 hours.

I used them both all day yesterday having a 4 second puff on each roughly every 3-5 minutes so I'm assuming that they must be charging or the initial charge would surely be depleted by now (48+ hours). This morning I put one back on charge (using mains adaptor) and again 4 hours later it still didn't indicate it was fully charged. I plugged the USB charger into the PC and both the newly charged battery and the one which had been used for over a day showed full charge (green light). So the mains shows they need charged (but don't complete) and the PC shows them both fully charged, I'm confused.

Could I have a faulty charger? Is the charge protection cut off in the battery or the charger? I'm worried I'm overcharging by leaving it charging more than twice as long as it should take (that's assuming they're charging otherwise I could be dissapointed later today when they run out)

I'd ordered 2 spare atty's, empty carts, juice etc with my inital order but now realise I still have a failure point in only having one charger so I ordered another yesterday. I'll be ordering a USB battery soon so I'll have yet another method of charging... yeah, I have the "can't go without" feeling already

Is there any way to make carts fit more tightly into the atty? I'm sure I read a post on this problem but I can't find it again. The original Janty atty is fine but with the TAWA the cart is very loose, so loose that it sometimes sticks to my lips, comes away from the atty and falls to the floor if I don't catch it in time.

Some background on how I became interested? OK... a friend tried an e-cig but wasn't impressed and threw it in a drawer, last week I was offered it to try. It was a Gamucci and I wasn't impressed either but decided to do some research and ended up on these forums. I soon realsised there was (possibly) better PV's out there so opted to try an eGo. My first puff was amazing, so THAT was the throat hit I'd beed reading about! I was impressed, VERY impressed. I could so easily have been like my friend and dismissed e-cigs as being useless, I'm so glad I researched further.

Being a "gadget" person I'm going to enjoy tinkering with different methods etc. I think I've found a new hobby! I've spent most of my weeks holiday from work reading these forums and absorbing information.

Sorry for the longish post but I got carried away

Thanks for the welcome harmony.

I'm finding it interesting that 2 almost identical eGo's now taste different. I've used the same juice and method of filling the carts on both. Maybe I'm experiencing the burning taste I've seen mentioned but being new I'm not sure. Having done a lot of reading beforehand I knew about blowing out a new atty and priming it so I did go through that process.

Both started out being "ok", not exactly pleasant but not disgusting either so I assumed it was normal. I'm now on day 3 and one of them (with the TAWA atty) has gradually changed taste, it's now a superb taste and feels "cleaner". The other with the Janty atty still tastes a bit odd but not as bad as when new.

I'm guessing that atty's need time to "bed in", "mature" or whatever the termonology is.

I'm loving my eGo(s) more and more with each passing hour.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll try the hot paperclip method for the loose cart and see how it goes.

@ petem. I'm not convinced the USB charger is working in the computer either as it shows a battery which has been used for more than a day as being fully charged. My spare charger should arrive early next week so I'll find out for sure and contact the vendor if needed.

Hope the charger issue gets fixed quickly !
As for the carts...LOL...I used to just lightly bite them and they would snug up good !!!

I tend to just bite on them too, just seemed odd to suggest it that way, but it definitely works. And most of us have our teeth with us most of the time, can't say the same for pliers or a hot paperclip or needle.

To tighten a loose cart I pad the mouth of the atomizer with paper or tape to keep from marring it's finish then using locking pliers (i.e Vise-grips) since they give more control or regular pliers if that's all you have, I squeeze the mouth closed just enough to give extra grip. You don't have to squeeze it enough that you can even see the difference after you're finished. You may have to tighten it a little at a time till it's right.

As far as the batts are concerned make sure they are on all the way..I had this problem myself and fiddled with it for a bit then it went straight red then after awhile I looked back and it was green not sure on the time but I was gaming so I wasnt paying attention.. Also for carts watch this vid. Its pretty helpful.

Welcome to ECF !! I have had a few e-cigs before finding this forum so I know what you mean, but now I also have the eGo and I am thrilled with it. Be sure to order some different flavor samples and don't limit yourself to tobacco flavors, try some fruits and sweets and find what you like best. You will be amazed what you will find. Hope you get your charging problem sorted out.

I found too with my wall charger for my egos, that although it seemed they screwed on, I wasn't screwing it on completely so was experiencing that problem the 1st time around, but finally figured that out. I find my usb charger portion of it though seems to take FOREVER! LOL...I'm backwards from you! I also found that the USB port that plugs into the wall charger end, wasn't in completely either, don't know if this is what your experiencing, but figured I'd toss in my 2cents to see if it helps. Also someone mentioned the taste being different? I find that dropping about 3 into the atty as well as filling the cart gives me a nice smooth hit the first 4-5 to start me out....depending on the size of the atty, I have two that are longer and put about 5 in there, have it down pat where I'm not getting the seapage out of the contact point between the atty and the batt, still wipe it though to be sure each time. But it give such a nice hit.....just got it over a week ago, so still tweeking it and will be sure to get a 900 batt and xl atty's as well, tried the cartomizer, lol....haven't quite gotten that one yet but haven't tried again after watching all the videos (it's easy I know I'm missing something simple LOL)

Here's my take: The charger is two independent units connected in series, 1.) A mains adapter and 2.) A USB cord with battery threads and charge indicator light.

The light on the mains adapter (essentially a transformer with USB output) only indicates the transformer is getting power and is outputting voltage to the USB port. It's not smart and is not passing information on the condition of the battery. If it is plugged in, the red light is on. If it is unplugged, the red light goes out.

The white light on the battery button blinks a few times when screwing it in to the corded connection, then goes out, indicating that it has accepted ("found") the battery and is charging. If the white button light does not flash, you have not made a proper connection. Screw in further or maybe you cross threaded and need to try again. When charge is complete, the light on the cord will change from red to green.

The threads on one of my batteries wasn't very good and I was afraid of cross threading, so I sent it back for a replacement. I didn't want to force it and wind up with stripped threads on a new unit.
