eGo Battery lights up, no action.

Using a eGo 1000mah for a about month and half way through a puff it stopped working. charged it, the light illuminates when pressed, but nothing. Cleaned the contact, tried another overnight charge, charger showed it was charging, still nothing. Any tricks, or is it just shot? Is this a common problem too (before I order another). I'm making due with a 510 batt and a 510 passthrough, but even my 510 batt seems to be working 60%ish? I do try to run a battery all the way down before charging, though my eGo I would plug in every night as it would usually last all day, but die right away then next morning

Hello there,
I am afraid I am not going to be much help. Perhaps my post will draw attention from more experienced people who can help with your situation.

I own eGo 650mah & 900mah from Liberty Flights. I do not own the 1000mah and I am not familiar with it. It can't be too far off from my 900mah, can it? I own Hello016's and they are 1300mah. Perhaps we can figure something out.

Brain storming here:
You cleaned contact on eGo, did you clean contact on charger?

Have you tried to charge pv with a different charger?
Disregard this. I re-read your post and you did try a different charger.

Is it manual or automatic activiation?

If automatic, we need to think about juice getting into your battery.
If manual, juice can get into battery via your activation switch. Could this have happened?

Is this still under warranty?
Have you talked with your supplier about the problem?

Have you put a volt meter on it to test it?
Could an atty be shorting out your battery?

Like I said, I'm afraid I'm not going to be much help other than brain storming. Hope someone pops in here with some more ideas and suggestions.

Paula

PS - did it get wet or dropped?

Check the atty. Do you have another? You said it charged, light went from red to green after a few hours right? Usually on these batts if it is gone the board or (MOSFET on the board) is the culprit and the button will light but it will not charge or fire an atty. If you are testing the batt w/a voltmeter be careful not to short it since that will kill the board too.

If you have a dental pick you can try this:

There is a flat round gold plate inside the threads where the atty screws in. Try using the dental pick to rock the plate back and forth, gently raising the plate out 1 or 2 millimeters. I had one of these batteries that needed this adjustment to work again. I think what happened is that a little juice got down in there and made the post behind this plate to get stuck. Just be very gentle when raising up this plate. You do NOT want to break the wire connection inside the case. Good luck!
