Ego Battery Question

So, my hubby has been using eGo T batteries, which was the first setup either of us had. The other day he went to take one out of his pocket and the whole top part came off. He pushed it back down, and continued to vape on it like normal. When we got home, he went to put it on the charger, and it's acting kind of weird. It won't tighten at all onto the charger, and if you set it down just right, the lights will come on like it's charging. tanks screw on to it just fine, but I'm wondering if it's a lost cause because of the top coming apart. You could see the wires inside and everything. I've been watching it like a hawk when it's on the charger, but I wondered if we should just get rid of it. The center pin looks to be raised appropriately too.

Thoughts?

I would get rid of it. I am sure your health and safety is worth more than a ego battery. It could probably be fixed but if you're asking then it's probably out of your skill set.

It most definitely is NOT within my skillset, not is it with my husband's. You're probably right. We should trash it. I'm trying to get him to come over to the fun side of vaping and tell me he wants an MVP. He'd be SOOOO much happier!

MVP is a nice step up from the ego's. It's built better, much longer battery life and allows for some experimentation. I am not a big fan of box mods but if your husband likes them then the MVP is a budget wise place to begin.

+1 on the above. It's safer to ditch the damaged Ego and you will not regret getting an MVP v2. Gives you all the options you need (unless you're a keen sub-ohmer) and is very solid with good battery life. A very good device imho.

Please remember to dispose of lithium ion batteries properly and take them to best buy and not throw away in the regular garbage. It can be dangerous.

There are probably more ego-style batteries that cause fires or explode than any other battery used in vaping, especially while they are charging. Don't push your luck.

Battery chargers should be used on flame-resistant surfaces:

• Stove top
• Marble countertops
• Baking pans
• Pyrex dishes

Ever come across a faulty 18650? They happen too. Egos can be very reliable and often last for years (I have some that are 3 yrs +). However, it is always sensible to treat them well, wipe off any residual juice etc..

When the top comes off it's gone. All the comments above about safe disposal are completely correct. No point in starting an unnecessary fire or poisoning landfill, is there?

Its better to have us tell you to throw the damaged ego battery away rather than the fire inspector telling you it was that ego battery was the cause of your house burning down.
