eGo burning carts

I am new to vaping with my ego being my first e-cig. I seem to have a problem with melting carts. I don't hold my button in for longer than 3 seconds and it does not seem to matter how I put the cart in it still gets burned. I keep my atty moist and my carts topped off and nothing seems to help. Any pointers or advice you might have would be appreciated. Thanks.

Problem solved. I trimmed the cart off square at the lowest melted spot and everything works great now.
