Hi fudgeball. I bought the eGo button protector when I first got my eGo. I've don't use it, because I generally carry my eGo either in a loose pocket (eg., in my jacket or sweater) or in a loose pocket in my purse. I did put my eGo in my back pants pocket once, and when I bent over I felt the eGo turn on. So, in answer, it depends on where you plan to carry your eGo. Someplace potentially tight...get the protector. Loose...don't. It can also be a little annoying if you're a chain vaper like I am. :)

Ahh I see. Well. There's a few ways to go about it.
1) Get a button protector: It serves it's function well. And that is protect the button from being pressed.
2) Unscrew the Atomizer/Cartomizer about 1 turn: No matter how the button is pressed, it will not fire the atty/carto
3) From my experience, the button of the Ego PV does not really activate quite easily(needs abit of effort to press) thus in your handbad it should be fine. Unless you are the type whom always 'squeeze' your handbag below your arms.

Just sharing what I have learnt from ECF to those whom needed help. Just like when I was starting out where all the seniors here helped me to where I am now being able to give advise to others.

Indeed good to see your own country mate in the community. Will make you feel that you are not alone.......... :vapor::vapor::vapor:
