[FONT=arial,sans-serif]Ok, I just filled a Smoktech Resurrector Jr Carto with TVR Apple Pie juice - 25PV/75VG. I let it sit about 30 mins. I always blow battery connection end out to make sure there isn't any juice in the middle. I make sure that end is dry, etc. I put it on the battery and took 2 hits. Smoke starts coming out the button!!! What the heck? I thought maybe it was that eGo (650mAh) so I try another one and the same thing happen.

So did I kill my batteries? Or is this the case of an over juiced carto? Or some other bizarre thing?

Thanks for any help.

Waiting and watching for answers on this one, myself. lol She asked me and I'm like 'rutrow... ask at ECF!'. Smoking pvs and me don't mix at all. Just don't know enough about battery safety. BTW, that resurrector is a single coil 1.7ohm carto, btw, in case that helps. (crossing fingers for good news!)

Ug... was hoping that WASN'T the answer, but makes sense. You know, I've never had that happen once, Hollie? lol Man... beginners luck! (hug!)

Man... I've never heard of any issues with anything over 1.5ohms and egos. Ever. And of course the dual coils. Hellfire. Um... Hollie. I'd wait till Nick is home.. I'm sure he has 'safety' gear to be able to put on safe glove, and goggles, and take that sucker out into the yard or something. I'd try it on a carto with a funky flavor or something, but I wouldn't have you do that by yourself, in your house, for love or money. Its just not worth the risk. I totally get wanting to be super sure they're dead, but just play it safe. ;)

And yet another reason to go twist. Cool to hear they have such advanced function, though. More I hear about those, more intrigued I am.

Look folks. I don't want to bear bad news.... sorry for your luck... but there's more to think about here than "does it work right now?"

For example, you could find that it works now but when you charge it later it goes thermal. Or maybe it just won't charge. But why chance it? If you do chance it, I'd charge it in a safe place outside and in a metal container....

Best to toss it/recycle it if you released the magic blue smoke from the electronics, even if you think it may be working now.

Oh yeah, provari is the end all be all. You'll never find something with the precision and build quality to match the Provari... given. That's my goal eventually. I'm a bargain vaper so that'll likely be a long way off. I'm rather happy with my lavatube, stainless, and few other 'low to mid end' vv units, and will LOVE when the V3 lrider lambo lavatubes come out in chrome with the new internals and 3 amp switch. But I'll tell ya... I'm a diehard vv vaper. I've poo poohed the previous incarnations of vv egos, just cause they were crap. But I've been following this thread...

People are literally buying the Ego twist as a backup to Provari and LOVING it. People are loving it more than their lava tubes, even. I have to say... for a $23 dollar unit (that price at DiscountVapers - Your source for savings on electronic cigarettes and accessories, Go-go eGo, vGo) with the slim function of an ego... I really do think this one is a game changer. ;) I'm recommending this for new vapers, and just thrilled the function seems to be there.

That's true orachel. $200+ is pretty hard to 'throw' at once. But when you think abt how long it'll last, the quality etc, it does add up. Personally the lavatube is a piece of junk. Mine started dying after about a month. The button was the 1st. I'd say the ego would perform better than the LT. And the ego is the perfect starters kit. VV or not :)

Oh yeah, totally. Almost always start em on an ego. I'm with you on the powdercoat LTs... definitely subpar construction. Buttons fail, caps crack. Have to say my stainless is a rugged little beast, though, and so hefty. Its been dropped on a solid slate tile floor like 10x. rofl Nowhere near provari precision, tho, and the 2.5 amps is a royal bummer. Provari is definitely WORTH it, I just don't have it right now. lol But for the time being, that 'heft' is a nice thing to have in a solid metal unit, for my budget.

Oh and H.. wanted to tell you... guessing you've already found it cause I know you've been all over ecf, but there is a PIF emergency thread that will try to help you get set up with new egos if you need em and can't replace em right away. ESPECIALLY since you guys are brand new vapers. Its like the emergency lifeline to lots of us. ;) Oh and I'm sure you guys have a multimeter. lol That's the perfect way to 'diagnose' what happened. ;) Theres this new thing coming out at .... um.. I think its madvapes. Its just a little board with a built in ohm meter that you screw carto into and it reads it. I have a hard time twangling with the probes on a multimeter, so looking forward to that release.

I test EVERY carto with a multimeter as soon as I take it out of the wrapper! A shorted out carto can ruin a battery and can be dangerous. Walmart sells them for around $15.. SuperTmanufacturing sells theirs for $10. I have mods with built in protection but I still check my cartos... it's rare but I have filled one and then got a really burnt hit.. checked it and it was right at 1ohms!
